i think the medical staff needs to check in as biggest factor first. the chemistry i dont see as a problem, because they are a tight nit team with incrdible team chemistry, plus it affects the PGs only (where alston has alrdy acknowledged a want to return to magic next yr behind Nelson- giving Magic essentially two great PGs next season), and where u have to ask Johnson if hes Ok with it. I would see nelson taking mostly his min.s, and leaving alston pretty much all his minutes still as the main starter. then nelson will have to be pre injury self or out of his mind good pretty quickly to warrant anything more than limited min.s. If the Magic staff dont think its worth it in first place, itll justifyingly be Nelsons health and that Fisher is a slower veteran like Johnson and Johnson can play D better in this series than against the younger faster Mo/Delonte. AJ is a good shooter too.

Bring on Jameer, Dwight, Rafer, Rashad, Hedo and all the rest of the crew and lets get it on! We in LaLa land have waited for a whole year to redeem ourselves for the laughing chatter heard around the globe after last years final. It's never enough to get there it's win or go home!!!

I trust that SVG will observe him play in practice and make the determination based on that. If he excels in practice, then perhaps he could come off the bench in a limited role. If not, then we have the team that carried us to the finals to begin with. Jameers big plus is his shooting potential. hopefully he can play but playing more than sparingly is not likely. It would be nice if he could come in for a quarter or so. Pass it in to dwight and knock down some 3s if they double. Or maybe penetrate, draw the defense and kick it out. Although the latter would be tougher if hes not in premier shape.

Jameer could be a nice insurance policy to have just in case Rafer and or A.J. are struggling from the field, or if one of them should get injured.

Jameer does a great job of getting into the paint and either finishing or kicking it back out to the 3 point shooters. He is also real good with the alley oop passes to Dwight.

So that is like a triple threat right there. You have the defense wondering if he is going to finish at the basket, kick it back out to the long range shooters, or is he going to lob it for Dwight ?

Also if Rafer and or Johnson get into foul trouble Jameer could then come in for either one of them.

I think the biggest thing to overcome, for especially Alston eventually, is if Jameer should come back and is able to compete at a high level, who will get the ball in the 4th quarter when the game is on the line ?

THis isn't Jameer "I've been practicing and playing regularly in NBA games" Nelson. This is Jameer "I've been sitting on the bench rehabilitating" Nelson.

Maybe he could come back as the 4th point guard. Don't disrupt everything now.

This is the FINALS, baby!

Wait till next year and develop a great 1-2 punch with Rafer and Jameer.

This is the Finals. You fire everything you've got in the Finals.
If the Magic lose Game 1 and 2 and "need a spark" or "need a different game plan", Jameer may be the missing element to turn the series around. I think you have him on the roster and hope you don't need him because things go well, but if things don't go well, you have him available.

There is no harm in activating him and making him an emergency option. He isn't such a me first player to be upset with an arrangement like this. He just wants to be a part of the championship run - and I can't blame him for that. They can give him a few minutes at the end of a quarter if they are up big.

I think Jameer should play, but limited minutes and not till Magic come back home and have stolen a game out west. He should come in off the bench for max 10 minutes if plays well and if not sit him back down. The chemistry is important and don't wanna mess with what has gotten us through the playoffs so leave starting lineup alone. But Jameer coming off the bench would bring the crowd to its feet I think and boost the team to a higher level knowing that their little general is back on the court. But do not play him in LA the first 2 games and like I said if we steal one (which we will) the play him some on home court to finish off lakers here in game 5. I know I will be there cheering for him to do his magic, even if only for a few plays.

GO MAGIC !!!!!!

I'd suit him up and if another backup PG struggles, bring him in for a few... 10 minutes is MAX to start with, and if he responds, you can increase in the later games, If Necessary...

JN brings a different dynamic than Skip To My Lue and AJ have. We cannot rock the boat, starter wise, but can provide some incentive if the PGs aren't playing up to par with Nelson ready in the wings..

How much will it hurt the chemestry if Jameer replaces Anthony Johnson in the rotation? Because of Nelson'e injury it has been impossible to stay in top condition. Even riding a bike was out of the question. I think he will be very helpful for a few minute here and there. Thanks much Jim in Maine

I'd like to see Jameer play at least a few minutes in the Finals, because he's earned it and had to miss out on his first All-Star game.

BTW, if anyone is going to a game, please hold up a sign that says "Grant Hill: Wish you were here?"

Throughout this season the Orlando Magic have proved to me that they are masters at making the right and crucial decisions. I have no doubt that the decision to reactivate Jameer (who by the way is my all time favorite) will be a well thought out decision eventually being the right one.
My personal opinion...even if Jameer just suits up, warms up, and sits on the bench, what a boost it would for the team and the fans. And if need be, for god forbid emergency reasons, who better than an all-star point guard to fill the gap. I am all for it.

I believe the "Jameer" story is just a clever way the Magic thought off to take some pressure off of the rest of the team.

I would say if they clear him, let him suit up but do not start him. If Orlando got like a 15 or 20 point lead, let him him for say 5 to 7 minutes to test the waters. You do not want to mess up a good thing. I do not see Orlando though getting that kind of lead on the Lakers. I can say this. Orlando is a much better team than the Nuggets or Houston. LA will have their hands full as long as the Magic do not get stage fright in LA for playing in the big one.

Again, the hand-wringing, liberal, non-sports guy trumps the toy department.
The guy (Otis Smith) that got us here (the NBA Championship playoffs) who actually has some skins in the game, is the one who can BEST see what's going on, doesn't want Jameer to suit up.
There IS A REASON(s).
I believe Otis only said he'll consider Jameer suiting up for the finals if ALL the doctors say he can, to keep the critics and the boneheads pacified.
I'm sticking with Otis, who can SEE the REAL situation and has actually done a REAL cost/benefit analysis.
Thank You, George, for your objective, something of an oxymoron for a liberal, observation.
BTW Smith and Van Gundy have now said: JN won't play until next year. Thank you Lord.
