ohhh my gosh. you guys are all jokes for magic fans. bashing otis at every turn. as soon as otis smith came in we have gradually improved. just because we're not signing big names in every move doesn't mean the team will be any less then what it was. he has mad very few mistakes(ie bidding against himself) i'll admit but as long as he keeps bringing us winning seasons he will have my support.
Well said. Believe me, if we go into decline, I'll be right there calling for a change.

I'm no apologist...just a realist. They are on the rise and I am on board. My gosh, we haven't even flatlined like the Pistons and the Blue Devils have...and people are all negative. You all remember, this is supposed to be fun, right?:-)

Steve Blake or Jason Williams would be a great back-up point guard. And re-signing Foyle ??? Oh gawd, what a waste of money. Gortat is better already and needs the playing time and experience. I think Gortat is going to turn out much better than we all expected.

The key for everybody to remember is that Foyle isn't going to play unless its an emergency. The point of bringing him back, if you ask me, is his basketball IQ, which can definitely help the team.

awww c'mon otis,,why couldnt you have signed Yao to back up Dwight. If not yao, you could have atleast went out and got amare to help the front court. I know serviceable big men are the ones who dont play many minutes and come in to let the starters breathe, but you could have gotten a cheap all-star to fill that role right? Now we all have to talk about how much you suck as a GM because you signed a third string center like foyle instead of signing someone like Marcus Camby as a back up. this post is total sarcasm btw........

you know what your exactly right. instead of picking up peitrus we should have got kobe bryant. also instead of paying jameer we should have tried to get steve nash. im sure the suns would have let him go in a sign and trade. otis is just an idiot. plain and simple. it doesn't even matter that our record has been gradually improving he's still doing a crappy job.*SARCASM*

I'd just like to say what a wonderful job Otis is doing and what a steal he was able to get for only $1 million to the Heat for VanGundy.

I did read recently where he was now willing to accquire the entire Warriors towel, water and floor moppers for just under a $1-1/2 million. That's not so bad because Foyle will get that to watch games and it will also keep Otis in good standing with the rest of his Warrior good ole buddies!

Not to worry guys...if they win 53 and win one game in the 2nd round it's all gonna be good!

Stan has done a great job with this team. The Magic are lucky to have backed into such a capable coach.

So much for getting a tough PF. It's unlikely the Magic will get a bruising big for this coming season.

Taking stock, it looks like the Magic have a payroll of about $69 million and a roster of 13. There's also a $3 million trade exception available.

Jameer needs a back-up which can play 30 minutes per game; this in case Nelson gets another concussion or other injury which sidelines him for more than a couple of games. I don't think the Magic are seriouly considering Anthony as a back-up starter as he has been a 15 min/game player throughout his career.

Will the Magic acquire a PG for $5-6 million in a sign and trade (with some cash) involving Arroyo? If they trade any other player(s), say Bogans and/or JJ, they are still going to be short on the roster, unless they get 3 players in return for 2 (or 2 for 1).

At any rate, I think Otis is at the end of his trading rope. With every day that passes, the possibility increases of filling the roster with has-beens, damaged goods and no-names. Let's hope for a big break...
