Here's an idea of how far the Orlando Magic have come on their NBA journey to relevancy: Four years ago, they finished with the worst record in the league and landed Dwight Howard as a consolation prize.

Well I must say... I t was a GREAT season!! Thanks for bringing the Magic back into the elite list of teams. If we all look at the big picture it is VERY bright for the Magic. To win 52 games this season with the injuries and Lewis's first year, we did great. The team really doesn't need to make that many changes. Here is my list of what we should do.

1) Resign Dooling to a 2 year deal of he wants it, at a good price... I think between 4-6 million a year is all.

2) Resign Evans to a 2 year deal also, worth about 5-7 Million total.

3) Draft a SENIOR PG/SG. Someone who is considered a defender 1st scorer second. This way we can have someone to help lock down these guards we face.

4) REALLY TRY and get Vasquez over here. Pay out his contract if he is ready this time. If not, trade his rights and move up in the draft!!!

5) Try and find a young Defensive minded PF sitting on the back of the bench somewhere and trade for him. Or scower the D-league and find someone. I know they are there, I have seen the ESPN specials about these guys putting up insane numbers but not getting looked at!!

Just a few small changes this off season. Nothing major. Then next off season we will see what happens and go from there!! Again GREAT SEASON.. and thank you Patrick Ewing for developing D Howard!!

They cant afford anyone. They have all the $ in the Big 3 and that doesnt include Turk.

No way the Magic will improve without getting rid of about 8 players. And then (wishful thinking) they may get a couple of backup bench warmers from somewhere that might be able to help.

Jeez! You guys must have partied with Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick Tuesday after the game...The delusional chatter seems to have spread from the loser mayor to the Magic players!

What part of 1 win & 12 losses to the Pistons in the playoffs do you not understand?

No, they are NOT a better team than the Pistons. If they were, they would have WON the series. Or at the very least, they would have made it a closer series than 4-1.

Dorks.

V-8 PistonPower, go with it now, but your gas is running out. 21 turn-overs and missed foul shots and it took the last 2 minutes of the game to beat us...better think about how great your pistons are...Orlando has to do a better job, but the teams you will now face will not make the same mistakes as we did...strong winds will hit your city in the form of blow outs by other teams.

Certainly dont know much about using cap space do you?? There are teams that have been over the cap for years and still get the players they want or need. Orlando's cap space is still very manageable and flexible enough to get things done.

No. They aren't better. They lost 4-1 to the Pistons without their BEST PLAYER playing in three of the five games. Wow. Sometimes I wonder about these guys. What a bunch of nimrods. Go Magic...I guess. Not really sure anymore...

What a dumb story. All other semi final teams are still in action and magic are going fishing. Best thing magic do is run their mouths. Unreal Next year could be tougher in the division as Hawks and Wizards showed improvement in the playoffs. Going 1 for 9 in past two years in playoffs against Pistons shows who is best by a long shot.

Stop..stop.stop...magic you aren't the better team, yes you had a chance in 3 games but in each game the better team choked off your offense.
you want to improve, your offense can't revolve around the 3pt line, it works in the regular season not in the playoffs. You need a strong PF, a Kurt Thomas type, you need players who will realize that when howard gets doubled they should cut to the basket and not just sit at the 3 pt line. Howard will learn from this series and be even better next year, but magic fans don't get delusional, you need a PG, Nelson is nice but he is not a starter.
Magic are closer, but they are still looking up at the pistons, cavs and celtics.

If the magic were as good as the Pistons then the series would have been a 7 game series not 5. If the Magic want to get to be as good as the Pistons then they will have to admit to themselves that they have some things to learn and take the necessary steps in their learning process to actually get better rather than talking about it. I'm talking about each of the 6 or 7 Magic players that have the ability to get better...Sure they are already good.... intriguing is the word most often used when describing the Magic. They have talent and a lot of potential. BUT intriguing rarely, if ever, wins against another good team who also knows their weaknesses and consistently plays to their strengths. Granted the Magic were much better this year but they still have a long way to go to get where they need to be. Intriguing is not good enough.

The Magic are a joke. What does Otis Smith think wins games--not the score? Wanted a new manager for the Magic-someone sane.

This talk from the magic players makes me sick. Suck it up - admit you were beaten by a team that produced whereas you didn't and leave town determined to come back, work very hard and produce much better results in the playoffs next year. With this delusional talk they might not even make the playoffs!!

They're better than Detroit? Way to prove it, lol... I support the home team but why even comment that the Magic are better? If they showed up to play, then maybe. Til then, get to work in the offseason.

With all due respect to all you previous posters, you all have LOSER mentality. The first part of winning is BELIEVING that you can. These guys show both the Winner mentality that it takes to do the job, and the realistic expectations that it will take a stronger effort next year.

I'm glad to hear they they are not down in the dumps as many of you negative thinkers are.

Thanks for a great season, Magic!

The series againg the pistons magnified a serious point that Stan Van Gundy made not too long ago : He is a multiple times fired mediocre high school coach that Pat Riley put in the position of NBA head coach to prove that anybody no matter how inept can do it if given a chance.

Orlando will have major problems next year. JJ Reddick should be playing. That's a shame.

There is nothing wrong with the players of an up-and-coming team to believe they are better than the team that just beat them four out of five games. Really, we know the better team won, but who doesn't look forward to another Piston-Magic series next season? Great way to evaluate the Magic progress.
