please get rid of vinny. he can't coach, period. he has no schemes, makes poor game decisions on substitutions and his lineup, and inspires no confidence from his players. our poor sportswriters like to refer to the fact that the bulls have done this with previous coaches, thus it is the player's fault. i think that the bulls players have reacted to the poor coaches they have been given to play for, notably boylan and vinny.
vinny is ruining rose, who is getting worse each day under vinny. now we are seeing a different attitude from rose and it isn't the normal change one sees from a rookie growing into the professional game. rose will be just like deng, kirk, tyrus, noah and the other bulls. there are six lottery picks from the draft on this team, and none have been developed under paxson and the sorry coaches he hires. keep the players, lose the general manager and coach. give the team a chance.

jhill, great commentary but as long as 20+k fans continue to show up, there is no incentive to make any change.

You can change the line up around as much as you like Vinny but it won't change anything.

Do bench Gordon though and any other selfish player (ie Hughes, Thomas, Noah)

Start with:

PG Rose
SG Hinrich
SF Deng
PF Nocioni
C Gray

then work in Sefolosha to help at the G & F positions. Gordon 6th man. Then come trade deadline...trade all players except Rose.

The players ultimately need to perform. They make the Bears defense look admirable. I don't even try to go to games anymore. If the players aren't trying, then why should I. If these guys were 11 years old, you could blame the coach, but these guys have been doing this for 15 years. If they don't know how to hustle, or don't care about it, then sit them all, and field 4 guys. If there aren't 4 then field 3, but only field those who have a commitment to winning. Suspend the rest. Lazy millionaire worthless heaps of crap.

Agreed. Basketball is not complicated. They shouldn't need additional motivation at this stage of their careers. As far as coaching goes, I hear that the Bull's defence has been deliberately simplified so that these guys can at least follow something. Does that mean that they're lazy and selfish or just plain stupid? These guys seem to spend more time on getting tattoos done than learning the game. I can't think of any other occupation where you could embarrass the boss with foul language, in front of the media, and be allowed to walk away with your job.

Trade Vinny. Oh wait...

We need to get rid of a ton of players and most of the management before this stink can be cleaned out. Individually they might be average to good, but as a team the chemistry sucks no matter who you put out there.

Trade assets:
Hinrich - Get rid of him while he is playing well. The illusion of fresh legs he has from sitting on his ass all season doesn't make me forget how bad he normally is this time of the year. We have our PG in Rose and Hinrich is too expensive to be a backup PG and we can get a real SG to match Rose if both Kirk and Gordon leave. Getting that 10+ mil a year off the books will free up a lot of space. He is good enough other teams would want him, especially now that he has the illusion of having energy while other players are tired from the season grind.

Noc - He is getting paid way too much for an 8th man and he has too many years left on his contract for his age and the estimated time Rose will hit his stride and we can make a playoff push. He isn't in the long term plans and we need to get rid of him and his contract before his old man legs show any more than they already do.

Gooden - It is his contract year and we don't want to be the ones paying for his next contract. He plays offensively like he is a guard and defensively like he is in la-la land. Some other team might like him and his jump shooting as a second or third big man but we can't afford him.

Thabo - He is easily replaceable for us and can be padding in a trade to make the money work. He might also enjoy a change of scenery.

Hughes - Can be used in a garbage in garbage out trade for a team wanting to make cap room for the big 2010 free agent market. Perhaps get a garbage big man who won't mind riding the bench in return. It will take time to get rid of the effects of the Wallace signing, but it would be a start just be getting a few trades removed from it.

Find a way to make up Gordon's production when he leaves. I think he won't want to play for a train wreck team like we have and will move on to NY or somewhere where they have their act together. Meanwhile, how will we replace his production? Buy a big man to get us through until 2010? Get a Kapono type player who is just a spot up shooter to put a bandaid on it?

Bottom line is that we need a roster change to get a new attitude, we need to get rid of our bad contracts, and we need to make Chicago more attractive to the big free agents coming up. Rose will need a plus one at his side and we don't have anyone currently on the team who can be that.

That is probably the real question as Reinsdorf has called Pax his best hire ever as recently as this offseason. I am hoping that was just a confidence booster for Paxson's benefit... Seeing as how he is just now realizing that his squad blows I doubt he will be retiring any time soon as it takes him quite some time to figure out what is going on.

Paxson should have been canned after last season's embarrassment. If he doesn't get fired this year how many second chances does this bum get?

The team he has put together is driving fans away in droves the past two seasons I can't believe they are not seeing a revenue hit. Merchandise sales and such have to be down considerably.

I am tired we have mostly had horrid Bulls teams for like the last 12 seasons I love basketball but I can't watch this group they are pathetic.

Agreed. The person calling Thomas selfish must not be watching the games. He rarely gets the ball in his hands but still can be seen making great passes for a big man.

Deng has been shooting too much lately and forcing up shots rather than passing when he is covered.

Fire Vinny. He refuses to give Thomas and Sefolosha good minutes. Nocioni does not add much more to this team other than an occasional trailing 3 or hard fouls anymore.

Again, Vinny's substitutions are terrible, fire him.

Is anyone else sick and tired of hearing Del Negro talk these days? I'm still shocked and stunned Del Negro even has a coaching job in the NBA...Bulls players could care less what he and Paxson say...they laugh, they giggle, they chuckle, they talk behind your back, they act like 5th-graders, etc...and the sad thing is, they did this last year...what a core group...

Is Vinnie reading old quotes from Tim Floyd?....I've seen how this story plays out and it isn't worth the time to watch it again. I'm done watching the Bulls until MAJOR changes are made to this pathetic excuse for a team.

The Bulls are averaging 21,003 this year in attendance. Capacity for the UC is 21,711. Last year the Bulls finished second in attendance and the year before that, first. Neither year did they make the playoffs while this year is doubtful. And, for the final slap, Bulls management RAISED ticket prices. People are turning out in droves despite sub-zero weather, a deteriorating economy, and a mediocre product. Now you folks tell me, why would Reinsdorf remove Paxson, the architect of this d-league team, in light of these numbers? Real NBA basketball will never return to Chicago as long as these attendance figures remain constant or Reinsdorf goes the way of Bill Wirtz.

As usual, Tiffany, I agree with you. These jokers on here act as it Hughes is the one and only problem on this team; yet this horrible losing streak has had Larry riding the bench; Larry isn't any more responsible for this disaster of a season than anyone else on this sorry squad. As someone above already observed, Rose continues to play/perform worse every game. This kid's game is actually deteriorating fast; he was better during the first few weeks of the season. Get Hughes off the bench and bring Gordon off the bench. Final advice ... how many agree with me. Since they have ruined this season already, how about seeing the Bulls tank the rest of the season and just go for another lottery pick. I mean, what the heck else is there to look forward to...there is utterly no hope to this bunch; no chemistry within this group whatsoever; no team concept or style; just cruddy play by one and all. Paxson brought in this miserable bunch; forget blaming Vinnie; he had nothing to do with this mess; Paxson has got to go.

Gooden, a captain, quickly dismissed a question on the subject.

"In that locker room, I didn't witness anybody smiling," Gooden said. "It was a tough loss. I saw guys frustrated. This is not a team with a losing attitude.

"I've been on a team (in Orlando) when we lost 19 straight and we were laughing before the game and laughing after. It was just a joke to us. This team is taking it seriously."

This is a quote from Drew Gooden that sums up everything about the Bulls. This is a guy who was on a team that lost 19 straight games, whose players laughed before and after the game.

It was a joke then, and it's a joke now.*@#* you Drew. Grow a pair.

yeah, paxson has to go. vinnie has to go also. we need a coach that plays players according to their skills. not according to fan favorites like hinrich and nocioni.
