Also, why are the fans discussing ORL's summer activity with no one from the Orlando Sentinel giving us inside info/ informed guessing or atleast opening the topic up?
All I'm seeing is transactions from the Magic and Otis' secretive planning. That doesn't mean the press should follow Otis' suit... open up some inside info. or some good guesses what will happen!
You sooo right Derek! We want Gossip! We want made up assumptions! That way we all will have MORE to rave about on here...especially me!

***Stuff like... hey I heard Dwight has another girl friend preggy...wonder who she is? You know, stuff like that.

You surely can't mean that writing stupid blogs isn't what anything to do with the Magic really means? The whole outfit is run by stupid people so why cant I write stupid blogs?
And...actually, If I had JJ on my team I'd give him a shot at playing and see if he is a loser. Van Gundy & Smith keep up their BS about how good JJ can be and that he has a place in the league...then turn around and NEVER EVER give him a chance to sink or swim!
No
Now, I have decided that I dont care if JJ plays for the Magic. I hope he sits 3 more years and gets his over $2 mil a year. I will guarantee one thing...when he is a free agent he's gone, period!
Some say he has NO Value. Well waive him you fools. Then he'll go someplace that a decent coach & GM will give him a shot at failing!
Nevermind anyway...you wouldn't understand the preduice.
Again, what would you do if you were in charge besides "Give JJ a Chance"?

I told you I root for they guy! I want to see him succeed. I know he's got some skills, but are they enough to play in the NBA. Maybe he could go light in up in Europe, but is he a real NBA player? I would like to hope so, especially since the Magic used a #11 pick on him!

If the Magic brass are so stupid, then why are they a playoff caliber team? How come they were able to convince the community to build a new building?

If Van Gundy is such a bad coach, why does the teams he's coached have a winning record?

If Otis is so stupid, how did the Magic end up as a 4th seed last year? How did he sign the top Free Agent on the Market last year? I don't want to hear they over-paid him either as so would of several other teams in the NBA that wanted him!

Answer the questions!

If there is one fault the Magic have, I would say its their scouting abilities. We've picked too many guys that don't pan out, that's for sure! And some of our good picks (Varejo, Harpring, Haywood) we've traded away before we developed them!

Then I read MEM wanted to send Crittenton for a future pick and rights to Fran Vazquez from Hoopsworld.com . Why would Otis not pull the trigger on this deal? That seemed too good to be true.

I'll try this the easy way:

(1) If I were in charge "I WOULD give JJ a chance" Van Gundy & Otis have NOT given him a chance to succeed or FAIL! Ask Chauncey Billups and a slew of other stars in the league that started with the Magic.

(2) I dont care who you root for. I hope JJ does go to Europe and gets that 4 years @$6 mil a year contract.

(3) I dont care if the Magic picked JJ #11. If they screwed up it's nothing new. I said before the NBA is NOT the end all, be all way to make a great living in the sport...there are now ways of making more $$$ than in the NBA.

(4) The Magic ended up 4th seed in spite of Otis. He has done nothing to improve the team at this time to ever even get that high again. Wait out the season then tell me where they finish. I guess Ranked #14 in the league (down from #10) and a 6th east seed, maybe 7th.

(5) Van Gundy has ONLY coached in the NBA as a head coach 3-1/2 years. He has ONLY had 2 winning seasons... one because Pat Riley got him Shaq to go with DWade, and two, the Magic last year thanks to Dwight & Hedo. Other than that he admits it himself he was a Div 2 college coach looking for a job. He also got fired from almost ALL his jobs, including Miami. The players will get tired of him, you watch.

(6) Otis took Lewis instead of a starter or backup for Batties spot. He signed him at that price... he can live with him at that price. Between Howard, Lewis and Nelson he has handcuffed the team. Lewis will get the Big bucks but Otis would have done better to sign/draft Paul Milsap or a decent PG and saved money. His player abilities faculties have been impaired since birth.

(7) Yes, you are correct. Not only are the Magic poor at selecting but totally screwed up in player development and keeping and giving Great Players a chance to prove their worth. IE; once again JJ Redick.

(8) I don't expect you to agree with a da-m-n thing I just said, LOL.

Have a nice day.:)

Lmao I’m going to quote a line from the Cinderella man “your mouth (or key broad in this instance) should be in a circus.

Someone help me to understand why we haven’t made a move for Critenton? Why would we want to resign The 7 foot version of Stan? Josh powell was waived yesterday; he is no star but a good back up power forward. Hello! Once again we are not willing to go over the luxury tax why is Hedo still on the roster? WE CANT AFFORD HIM OTIS. I will always support my team but Otis you are not helping us much with the silent treatment. What do you think Real NBA fans do all summe; speculate, speculate, speculate

You are without a doubt my HERO,,,
I never really agree with your post, but damn-it man I love to read them. Here are a few of my critiques. The Magic were the third seed last year not the fourth. Ron Jeremy took the heat to the Eastern conf. championship series without shaq in wades rookie season. I believe that the magic are a 2 or 3 seed in the east. Still the best three point shooting team, probably still in the top five in the league as far as offense and now they have a better defense with pietrus, battie and Johnson. I agree that they suck hard at developing the talent. You can create an all-star team with the players who left and became great(at least good). I think JJ will get his chance this year and I also think he will respond to it with a good year(then the magic will trade him). Just my opinions. Go Duke!!(not really)

The Clips waived Josh Powell. If i were Smith i would pick him up now. Hes cheap and a hell of alot better then Augustine. Plus a better alternative then the aging Foyle. Powell would even be a better alternative to Cook, and not cost 3 mil a year.

There is talk that Powell is going overseas yes another player looking for more money in Europe. While every talks about getting Powell cheap he is looking for more money and looks like he might just get it just not here in the USA.

So Anti-Otis morons we will be a major player in the 2010 sweepstakes and will have one of the best core group of players in the NBA signed and ready to go. Anyone of those free agents will be tempted to come here, not only for the money but also to play for an NBA championship. If this present group is knocking on the NBA championship door we will be able to resign them, if not we will have the cap space to make a major improvement. That is how it is done folks and that is why Otis is one damn good GM.
Same old story ... the Magic did this before ... remember Hill and McGrady?... we ended up not winning a championship and giving both of them away. As long as the fans will put up with low expectations, the GM will continue to draft and trade for average-talented players at best.

Dwight looked pretty good in the olympic game vs. Turkey. I did not see the Lithuania game yet. Not bad for a stone hands...

My early prediction for the championship this upcoming season is:

Memphis over New York Knicks
finals mvp=Darko or JJ Redick (since he'll probably be traded for Critt.)
