There was a lot of talk of Bynum being injury prone his first season when he hurt his knee. But a lot of people said he's young, give him a chance and see what happens. Then he hurt his knee again the next year, and some people said see - he's injury prone, while other people said it wasn't his fault, Kobe came down sideways on his knee and that's why he got hurt, could happen to anybody. Well football players get hit a lot harder on their knees from sideways impacts and don't have major problems like Bynum did.
Then this year with the elbow thing... Sheesh, if every player ever got hurt to the point of not playing numerous games after an elbow injury like Bynum had, there would be no players left in the league to play. The jury is out... Bynum is nothing but an injury prone player. If only he would listen to some of the more experienced and do what they do. He cast aside Kareem's advice and coaching figuring he was better than what Kareem could teach him. If only he would start Kobe's weight training and daily exercise routine, which is a big reason Kobe rarely gets hurt. But he probably thinks he's too good for that too. |

gasol needs to remember the lakers are his first priority and not spain, who pays the bills? he should have rested his body during the summer allowing for rest and healing.now with the injury he's getting the rest he should have gotten over the summer.there should be a clause in the contracts prohibiting playing for national teams with the exception of olympic years.

I agree completely. Gasol got hurt practicing for the Spain National Team, was considering surgery, but still got healthy enough to play for them over the summer. And now he's hurt real bad and hasn't played one game for the Lakers less than 10 games into the NBA season?? I've never seen any team allow and put up with something like this in my 56 years of following the NBA. Maybe times have changed, not sure for the better or the worse..... |
