Lamar is most definatly the "X" factor.... We need him...
I suggest Koby and Phil both through some cash into the pot...
Just to insure that he returns... Magic did it way back when!

dont worry guys, we have the asian magic johnson about to be unleashed on the nba. and he is an awesome player. USA HAD KOBE GUARDING HIM. 6'10" 265lb. and a defensive minded offensive threat. we are too deep to need odom back for more than 8m. a year. and we got a few roll players in the minors under contract. i just wish we could have got trevor back to relieve artest.

If Ron Artest is willing to take a pay cut down to a sum of 6 million annually, then Odom should be willing to do the same. It's night like he's going to starve making less than 10 million a year.

odom for say three years 26 million or maybe tour years 32 million. barring any injuries he'll be able to solidify his status as one of the best six men in the history of the game. all the flak about his sweet toth and not living up to his potential...give me his inconsistency every day of the week over what we got from rad, sasha, cook, and a whole host of other lakers during his tenure that we paid too much for.

To me, resigning Odom is HUGE! That guy is multi-talented & he is willing to give up the ball to make his team better. Shoot, they better find a way to keep him if they want to repeat. Artest just adds flava to the mix!

Time is on the side of the Lakers. No news can mean at least the possibility of good news later. I am glad Lamar Odom set a figure and left it there without his agent talking too much. Hopefully both sides will make the necessary concessions to get a deal signed this week. Going to Portland would be a mistake, if Odom wants a second championship experience.

lamar should sign for the 8 million a year the lakers are throwing at him and then make the difference up in candy endorsements.

It is imperative that the Lakers sign Odom. He is the glue that keeps this team together. Trevor WAS our "X" factor, now that falls on Lamar. He creates mis-matches, he covers for Fisher not being able to stay in front of his shadow, he rebounds, and scores when needed (not always when we want him to but no-one is perfect). Without him and his intagibles, we do not win another title in the next five years.

Laker fans... Mitch has the NBA minimum 13 guys signed up for a luxury cap staggering $84.6 mill., so he is finished, no more players, no more Lamar, etc...

The Lakes will pay $15 mill. in lux. cap fees. They are finished.

The roster is set.

I think the Lakers OWE it to Lamar to give him what he is asking. REASON: He accepted the role of being the 6th man and stepped up the game when needed. He was playing in a contract year, and only complained a little bit in the begining but then quiet down and just went to work and did a great job. To me being a loyal and coachable player is worth a lot of money these days in the NBA.

Lakers made three contracts that kill the Lakers. Sasha, Adam Morrison and Luke. That's $15 million for a bunch of chump players.
