Dignified memorial for Michael Jackson

Full story: Long Beach Press-Telegram

It was not spectacular, extravagant or bizarre. There were songs and tears but little dancing.

So sad. The freak show continues.

His kids have been shielded for years, blankets, veils, feather masks, their first time center stage, is in front of billions, at the funeral of the only person they have ever known, to be their father. As for the mother. Time to update the definition of American family values.

Can't help but to question the selfishness of the man in the casket, if he so loved his children, why all the drugs found in the home and the live in full.time doctor, the drugs, prescriptions to pseudo names.

What ever happened to Bubble the Chimp. My understanding, not good.

What will happen to Prince Micheal, Paris, Blanket?

Does it give you pleasure to trash the life of a man who gave so much to the world through his music and charity? Yes, he acted in a way many people would consider strange but the only thing that it showed was a childish innocence and refusal to grow up. He was subject to an abusive father and lived in constant and unending public scrutiny. It must be nice to sit there in judgment of a man that you only knew through the media. I hope when you are judged by the Creator you get the same benefit of the doubt. Go ahead and pat yourself on the back for trashing a man who gave inspiration to millions through his music and kind acts.

Why is it that people like you never understand that by doing the exact same behavior you're no better? Too bad this is The United States and we have freedom to say whatever we want, despite you! Pesky Bill Of Rights and all. There is no creator except our parents and ancestors, these threads prove that stupidity runs in families.

As to Michael Jackson. He was 50 when he died. Not under his fathers 'abuse' for OVER 30 years, THREE TIMES longer than most of us get to live childhood by age 10 we start maturing some (we find out that there is no tooth fairy and Santa Claus around then)! Stop with the excuses for the pervert! He was a child molester, he sang and danced, he gave away money to cover up his pederast behavior, I don't applaud that, no one should. So glad I'll never hear his name again after the end of this week. That is the only good to come from him!

I've wonder about 'Bubbles' too.

As for the kids, I predict YEARS of therapy and even then they are going to be confused and suffer identity crises of a HUGE magnitude (especially since NONE of them really know who their parents really are). No matter who would have or will 'raise' them. Especially when they find out they aren't black and their 'father' lab created and bought them in the same vain as Paris Hilton bought Tinkerbell, As arm accessories. Except they show how much Michael Jackson's self loathing and self hatred of being a black entertainer really was. None of the surgeries, skin bleaching or anything else was going to change who he really is!

It's quite evident that ignorant morons like you are the epitome of the stupid masses that would seek to judge the man on media speculation. Look you dumb moron, he was acquitted of all charges in the molestation case and there was a recorded telephone conversation that clearly shows that the despicable father of the accuser was after money. Google it you dumb idiot.

Freedom of speech is fine. Slander based on media speculation is despicable. How would you like it if someone accused you of child molestation, you were acquitted of all charges, and the media branded you as a child molester. You're probably too stupid to know the difference.

Does it please you to sit there in judgment of a man? How about we trot out all of the mistakes and quirks you have in your own life and let other people sit there in judgment of you? Sure, the man had insecurities and failings that might be greater than other people. But look at what he contributed with his music and charity.

You don't give a rat's a-ss about his kids. His daughter loved him from all evidence. I don't love the man blindly but I won't judge him from the salacious media accusations that have no basis in fact. Go back to your little rat's nest and think of other people to tear down. You're a shining example of the bitter and ignorant American citizen who is ready to tear down his fellow man at the drop of a hat to bring happiness into their own pitiful and meaningless lives.

His death is no more important than any other person that dies...sure he gave money and did do things that were not of his age group....but his death is no more inportant than your death....

Angry? Bitter? Confused? Alcoholic?

Sorry, I don't buy into the fact that it's ok to give 'inspiration to millions', yet conveniently abandon your children/possessions by live in doc drug overdose/death.

I also think the way the Jackson family paraded those kids out in front of billions of people, in front of their fathers casket, to be the beginning of the pimping of the second generation of Jackson children.

Another ignorant statement by an ignorant fool. Abandon his children? There has only been media speculation but you've already assigned yourself the duty of jury and judge. He probably turned to sedatives to deal with the emotional and physical pain he was dealing with. The guy was 50 years old and preparing to go back on a grueling concert schedule to pay his debts and support his family.

He paraded his children? What in the hell are you talking about? He would do what most parents would normally do but he would have a million cameras on him and his children. Did he ask for that? He put masks on his children so their faces wouldn't be splashed on tabloids across the world and people call him a weirdo. I would love for you aholes to walk one day in his shoes and then talk your pathetic trash.

People have a right to criticize the fault in others but take a look at your own lives first. The man's music and charity was an inspiration to millions and you aholes are first in line to tear him down. I hope one day that you are judged on the same standard you set to him. Then you miserable hypocrites can realize your lives don't amount to a dung heap compared to him.

First of all, I think John David had a point. In short, respect the dead. You know the saying, "If you don't have anything nice to say..."
In response to Spike, the only thing I can reason for his pill popping is his vitiligo (which can explain his colouring, I had a step father go through a similar thing), and lupus (which can be very difficult to deal with, I've seen it first hand). There is also speculation that he was still in pain from when hhe received third degree burns to his head. Whether or not THAT is true, I would probably be drinking a cocktail of pills had a been accused of something I didn't do. Just an opinion

Jeez, dude. Have some respect for the dead. I am sure YOU wouldn't want someone to trash someone you loved who died.
