It was disappointing to see the Cubs fall back into (hopefully brief) offensive swoon. I hope Jason Kendall will start producing. The Cubs need his leadership and consistency on offense. The last couple of games were the first in several weeks where the whole team seemed to be off focus and that's not a good way to start a road trip when you've on the heels of the division leaders.

Lou's correct. Cubs were defensively sound and starting pitching was good enough in last 2 games. Good pitching beat them. Cubs went cold. Coincidently, Lee & Ward being out changes the opponents entire approach. Fontenot & DeRosa are doing a nice job; but are not proto-type long-ball threats. The other manager's no dummy either.
