Is anyone mentioning Carlos Marmol as a closer anymore? One walk sets this guy off. No one is chasing his slider anymore and his fastball is fast but so straight which spells disaster. Marmol needs another breaking pitch. Hitters seem to have his number now. All they have to do is stay away from his sweeping slider.
Great offense of 2 runs on the road as usual.

ugghh...Marmol...basically a loss waiting to happen every time he goes out. I've yet to see him pitch where he doesn't walk and/or hit someone.

how long is jim hendry going to let big lou screw this team up? it's getting to be like a old time movie cubs get back in the game lou puts marmol in and he walks people and loses the game in the eight inning, cubs need a manger with lou they aren't going anywhere, if this keeps hendry should be fired too

Cards won again, Holliday 4-for-4 and is hitting .586 since they picked him up.

The Cubs, meanwhile, got Jeff Baker to "bolster" their offense.

Cubs need to win series from here on out ... I don't think St. Louis is going to lose many games the rest of the way.

You hit it right on the head. The game has passed this man by and Hendry better realize it. Lou is the guy who keeps hitting his head against the wall because it feels so good when he stops.

Marlins brought out a Goat onto the field?!?!

How classless of a team can you get? I mean, are you serious? I cannot believe a professional team would be so tasteless.

A real stinkeroo. Marmol is the Latin Americna version o9f Mitch Williams. The Marlins TV crew really laid into Lou for this one.

Maybe tomorrow they'll march out Bartman and Tom Seaver in honor of the 40th anniversary of 1969

It's not as tasteless as bringing Marmol on the field.

Looked at the remaining schedule of both Cardinals and Cubs. Trying to be non-bias, I determine that both the Cubs and Cardinals could end up even by the end of the season.

Cubs can beat up on the Nationals, Pirates and Reds. But why does this team struggle against the Marlins?

Lou should not worry about a Goat Show in Miami. Worry more about how the Cubs can be the "Hitless Wonders" once they leave Clark & Addison.

Marlins, who won two World Series, is a joke to MLB. Only large crowds they get is when the Cubs or a NY team shows up. City does not deserve a team or a new stadium. I have to say that the Marlins female cheerleaders are nice Boy Toys to have around.

Will have to see which Cubs team shows up on Saturday. Cardinals won again tonight.

Trades can still be made. Look for more to come. Looks like teams like Pittsburgh and Cleveland are dumping players due to money problems. Their cities are in trouble, and it shows at the gate. Don't be surprise if six teams are not around in three years from now.

MLB union is asking the F.B.I. to look at these steroid leaks. Watch a sudden player strike happen if this is not cleared up and people are held accountable.

Nice game for the White Sox. Again, we never know which team shows up. It seems the Sox has the Yankees number.

Peavy trade does not make sense at this time. Sox might get five starts out of this guy for this year only.

Hendy has ordered a golf cart to take Lou out to the pitcher's mound to make pitching changes. I have an idea, send Marmol to Iowa for a player to be named later.

... and what's the deal with Lou - he looks like a homeless man, he can barely complete a sentence, and when one of the writers questions him he gets pissed. He took a 30 under .500 bunch of losers and made them a 97 win bunch of losers ... what's the difference?

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Aries

Someone wants to go their own way today and they won't care whose feathers they ruffle in the process. It's a lunar eclipse at the Full Moon in Cancer, so let them get on with it. The last thing you should do now is to hang on to their coat-tails or do anything else that will make them feel restricted. Make it plain that you've got your own fish to fry, thank you very much. And try not to let it stop you enjoying yourself. Have a great night!
