What Torii Hunter was saying is that baseball has some responsibility to its American roots, and black Americans have a unique relationship to the game itself and its history and something is not right when there are fewer and fewer black Americans playing at the top level. The bigger point being that PC multlculturalism trivializes that history. Hunter's comment reflects the resentment created by affirmative action type racial quota policies.

How is that genius (Tybalt)? More conservative moronic talking points..... Your type would still have blacks as slaves, why attack policies that were designed to level the playing field.

Torii is telling the truth and it's not just about baseball, either. This convenient label of "African American" is being used to encompass immigrants from African nations, Afro-carribean islanders, dark-skinned Asians, and anyone else who checks the box.

Meanwhile, U.S. born descendents of slaves are still being treated like it's 1799...

Tori is a fool and biggotted black man.
He is pretty much saying a Black from the USA is better than a black from anywhere else.
Are any African-"Canadians" imposters too? Guys like Hall of Famer Fergie Jenkins?
What about Black Dutch players from Aruba - Sidney Ponson or Gene Kinsale?
or Curacao - Andruw Jones, Jair Jurgens, Randall Simon?

If players didnt have their names stitiched on the backs of jerseys or opened their mouths, you'd never know if they were from NY, Florida, California, Venezuela, Cuba or the D.R.

Shame on you Tori Hunter

When you play in a big market like LA or NY what you say gets a lot more attention whether it is out of context or not.

Distorted MY FOOT!!! If nobody had said anything, neither would Torii!!! He's had a "mouth" problem all through his career, much like a jerk by the name of Barak Obama and I'm glad he's gone.
