it took the Phillies this year just 1 series to bring back the intimidation and fear that they put on the Marlins every year. It looks like they broke the will of the Marlins who know that they have nobody to close the game and are leaderless ;... their best player, Hanley, is a lost soul out there, aloof, and mentally lazy and not leading by example. The problem with him is that he comes from the Manny Ramirez school of thought that you can fix all bad things with a few good at bats. And bringing a rookie up to pitch his first game against the World Champs and Moyer took a lot of imagination also.

Reminiscent of Cam Cameron bringing out John Beck at big tough agles and Pittsburgh in bad November Pennsylvania weather for his first play at QB

The next time they have to play the Phillies, dont play them here or in Philadelphia, but in a city slightly north of here where Phillies haven't had good luck lately.

UUUUgla is UUUUUgly. that one armed swing is so bad it's become a trademark of this horrendously awful baseball team. Season over and it's still April. my prediction of a 10 game losing streak was under stated. And Freddi Dumbo looks bhewildered as usual. Have fun in NY and Chicago, jerkies. PATHETIC LOSERS

Dumb ass Freddy. Don't you remember Canseco who pitched one inning and ended up on the disable list with tendinitis on his throwing elbow? Do you want a position player to end his career just to pitch one lousy inning? What's wrong with you Dumbo? Keep using the relievers for one/two outs and you'll see that on some games you'll end up with the starters. I just hope that Cody is allright with no after effects. Finally we need a decision maker for a manager. Who told you that Taylor can pitch in this league? While I'm still pissed up, I want to remind you that neither Bonifacio or Maybin can hit major league pitchers. They need to be sent to the farm to get more experience. DUMBO, DUMBO, DUMBO, FATSO

Cody Ross shows up the entire Marlins bullpen. What a shame.

Come on! Did anyone really believe the Marlins actually have a chance? 6 games against the Nationals and people thinking about the playoffs.
It will just get worse from here as other teams start to really warm up.

This weekend just proved how much of an IDIOT Fredi Gonzalez is. Did you catch him SMILING after the game talking about it being "a little disappointing"? What a DISGRACE. Fredi is still a complete idiot. We have no leadoff hitter now that he moved Hanley down to third as neither Maybin nor Bonifacio are ready. Maybin WAS ready, but Fredi moved him from LEADOFF where he did great last year, to 8th and he lost all confidence. Now BOTH Maybin & Bonifacio are SHOT and need to to go back to the minors. Meanwhile he is doing his usual TERRIBLE JOB with the bullpen. Lindstrom is a decent set up guy when he's healthy, but he's lost about 4-5 MPH off his fast ball and Fredi INSISTS on using him as the CLOSER. The meltdown on Friday was predictable; I saw it coming the way he struggled so far this year. Meanwhile the guy who SHOULD be closing is Nunez. On Saturday, Fredi PULLED HIM OUT in the 9th inning to bring in PINTO! Is he COMPLETELY OUT OF HIS MIND? No, he's just FREDI THE IDIOT, that's all. He's been doing STUPID STUFF like this for THREE YEARS. and of course, NO THOUGHT about walking the bases loaded to set up a force at any base situation. Well, we wound up using THREE PITCHERS to give up the TYING RUN IN THE NINTH INNING and that left us with Kensing the BUM who lost the game in the 10th. TYPICAL FREDI GONZALEZ IDIOCY!

This team has only one weak spot:

Jeffrey Luria

Even just 2 or 3 decent (not great) arms in the bull pen and ~$1M a year and this team is a bona fide contender. Instead, el cheapo gets to sit back and stroke his ego by telling himself his bargain basement payroll is good enough to beat half the teams in the league. What a loser.

If the Marlins were willing to invest the small amount of money it would have taken to make them more competitive than the Phillies would not have such an easy time whopping the Marlins. Clearly such an investment would have paid enough dividends to pay for a new stadium that will generate more resources. Instead management has decided to strip the team and let younger players do the work for less money.

The fans resent the manner in which the Marlins have decided to take and the fact that the league supports and encourages it. Bud Seilig did the game a great injustice by buying the Expos from Loria and allowing him to buy the Marlins from John Henry.

If John Henry would have still owned the Marlins they would have probably had a shot at winning at least 2 World Series instead of the 1 that Loria owned with John Henry's players. You may recall Loria gradually selling off these players.

Though the Marlins will be somewhat competitive in the end the Phillies will end up with the East again.

Who cares? I would rather watch the NFl draft. At least we have the Dolphins to look forward to. I can't wait until the Marlins move to the new stadium. Looking at the empty seat is going to be a real rib tickler.

You know it is a shame that we did not keep Rhodes, Nelson and Waechter and got rid of the Pinto(Which also was bust as a Ford), Kensing. We might have had a fairly decent bullpen, this has been my worry all along.

They would have taken 2 out of 3 from the Phillies with a closer. They need to trade some prospects for an Arthur Rhodes type.
