From just having returned to Levvitown from Bloomsburg, I was so looking forward to the mummers.. And I was not disappointed. They were as good as I remembered. Let's hope it continues, as everyone seems to be feeling the pinch.

Only a city like "Philthadelphia" would come up with something as dumb as the mummers.

I don't get it either. What? I'm supposed to get up at the crack of dawn, and freeze my bells off to watch a bunch of costumed morons strumming banjos?

Naw! Just take it in at home on the good old TV with your family! They are beautiful costumes, it's an old tradition, nothing much else to do on New Years' Day, my kids and I enjoyed watching the parade on TV together.

Yes, why get the family together for a tradition - let's sit and play video games. People can't even exercise without the aid of a video game system anymore - pathetic.

Have you ever played a Wii? They're a freakin' blast & I don't care for video games. I decided to check it out when I had the house alone for a bit. Man, I love playing baseball on the darned thing! My husband walked in with one of his friends and caught me at it - they still joke about me wigglin' getting ready for the pitch! Sometimes it's good to just play like a kid while you're with your kids!

I have played Wii and laugh because all of my friends just HAD to get it so they could get Wii Fit. To each his/her own. I prefer good 'ol fashion board games with my son, playing legos and setting up the basketball net or t-ball stand and really playing games rather than sitting and staring at the tv.

Like you said, each to their own. I find nothing wrong with adults playing with their kids toys, especially if they're all playing TOGETHER! Don't worry - there are more times where the TV and games are off and the children are off playing in the stream, going for a bike ride or a walk, playing whatever game they've conjured up, or walking the dogs and cats. Um, yeah, the cats really love when it's their turn to go for a walk, lol!
