Phils lose to Braves as Rollins continues to struggle

Full story: The Morning Call

You don't panic on Mother's Day . Not with this team. If you're a Phillies fan, you've been through it before, probably more times than you care to remember A A... stretches of inconsistent pitching, untimely hitting, making no-name pitchers look like the second coming of Cy Young .

Nobody ever said to my knowledge that Rollins was a another Ted Williams. That's his problem, he trys to hit homers like Utley and Howard, he should be taking more pitches and even a couple hits for the team. Utley has been a hit batsman a lot more then Rollins. Shane should be lead off hitter. Rollins back to fifth position.

One and a half games behind first with 133 games left. They should just quit now and forfeit the rest of their games. They'll never make up that deficit. 2008 World Champions, what losers!

If "philly fluck" posted this kind of nonsense in any other paper's website, he would be banned. The Morning Call is different because it's sportswriter openly root against the teams they cover, especially if the teams have PHILADELPHIA on their uniforms.

Then that means your team is world champs.
Oh, wait!
The Phillies are World Champions of baseball.
Yep,
Only you are the loser that must have missed the whole post season last year.
Were you in jail?
No, even jail has TV.
You must have been a jobless person on Mars.
Let me tell you something you don't know...The Phillies won the whole thing last year.
They are the ONLY team in baseball that are NOT losers.

With all that said...
Rollins was never a really good hitter. He did "bat" great in the year he was M.V.P. But, most of the time, he has always been an average hitter. Right now he is really bad. That will change. But, his M.V.P. year came out of nowhere.
He has always been the best, or at least one of the best, shortstops in M.L.B....and he still is.
The problem is NOT just Rollins.
The starting pitching has been really bad.
I think the team still has a better W/L record than they did last year at this time...but, the pitching needs to get better.

All you guy's are saying the Phils have problems. Today they are 1 game out of first. What problems? Discuss any problems if or when they fall 10 games behind. We all want to see them go 162-0 for the season, we know that will never be accomplished by any team. It's a tough division and right now they're right there with the rest. Patience Tonto, patience.

I have lost complete tolerance with the Philadelphia sports media which of course trickles down to the Lehigh Valley. I no longer watch Comcast sports shows whether they are pregame or postgame. I no longer watch sports wrap up shows hosted by morons like Eskin. I avoid conversations about sports with anyone. If the Phillies are in a tailspin I will briefly mention it in passing, but curtail any further discussion about the subject. It is a 162 game season. The weather is pleasant. Enjoy the game. If they win, great. If they lose, well whatever.

Players get off to slow starts. Teams will struggle at different points of the season. Sometimes they will improve. Other times they will not. End of story!

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Gemini

Today's Full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse, will have a big impact on your relationships during the next few months, so stand by. If the cracks have been starting to show in a partnership, this could be when they turn into major fault lines that demand action. Can they be repaired or do they spell the end of the line? It may feel like a crisis but that doesn't mean it really is one, so don't over-react.
