Ozzie Guillen criticizes A.J. Pierzynski at-bat

Full story: Chicago Tribune

Paul Konerko 's rare error Friday that preceded Geovany Soto 's game-winning three-run home run didn't bother manager Ozzie Guillen as much as pinch-hitter A.J. Pierzynski swinging at a first pitch that resulted in an inning-ending double play that took the White Sox out of at least forging a tie in the eighth inning.

Guillen is an idiot, he says A.J. had a bad at-bat, he always puts the blame on everyone else but himself. What about him leaving Contreras in the 7th when you could see he was standing straight up throwing the ball instead of bending like he was early in the game before he hurt his back, bad job managing again Guillen, the worst handler of pitchers I have ever seen. Oh yea Ozzie what about your boy at ss Rameriz first pitch swinging with men on base and grounding into double plays, not a word said, and he stinks at short, move Beckham to short and put Fields back at third at least until Alexie removes his head from his a**.

DLT is absolutely right about that knucklehead of a manager. Even Castro knew Contreras wasn't right and kept looking into the dugout. But Ozzie being Ozzie he didn't even have a pitcher warming up. Guillen basically conceded this game when they were down 5-2 in order to save his bullpen. Then he throws one of his more reliable players under the bus. He always finds someone to blame other than himself. What a stand up guy!

AJ shouldn't have been in the game in
that situation in the first place (this isn't a nock on AJ ... he's
one of the few pros we have going)
but the better match-up would have been to leave Castro in to face a struggling Marmol (he couldn't throw a strike). Ozzie's baseball instincts
are a joke. Unfortunately, we are not
a good team this season and it's not going to change. By the way, someone
please inform management that Ramierez
is not a number 2 hitter. You don't use a free swinging and seemingly wanting to pull everything guy in the number 2 spot. Oh well, one thing is for sure, there are a lot of holes to point out. Finally, I'd still like to know why the pitching coach gets a free pass when it comes to pitchers holding runners on base.

Yeah, moving a guy back to his natural position is absolutely absurd...

Damn straight. And, for a moment, I thought you were referring to me watching the game down in Havana. Even the Cuban Brotherhood in Miami knew that Contreras was gassed. Ozzie es realmente una locura.

If Castro hits into a double play everyone would say "why didnt he pinch hit aj?" Bottom line, AJ didnt get it done. I remember in 2005 when Konerko came up to bat I was sitting behind 1st base and I told my brother "I hope he takes a few pitches." Konerko hit the ball 390 feet for a slam.

I have no problem with AJ hitting the first pitch. Its just too bad he didn't get some lift on the ball.

I watched the game yesterday, and as far as I am concerned Ozzie never has been a good manager. Piernynski also learned from the Minnesota Twins about first pitch swings. It works for them. I see trouble in the future for Piernyski and Ozzie. Piernyski has caused trouble in Minnesota and San Francisco, just wait it will also happen here also. I know a lot of you will say Ozzie won a world series in 2005 but with the team you had then ,any manager would of won. Ozzie is a sunflower spitting mannequin.

Can't believe all the sox fans, and now Ozzie, jumping on AJ. He's a dork, but a good baseball player. I'll bet ozzie's own scouting report said Marshall will try to throw a spinner for a strike on the first pitch. He struck out one of the tigers best LH hitters twice on 6 curveballs. If AJ did what a lot of sox fans said and wiated on a fast ball, he'd still be standing there..waiting on a fast ball! Good ball game.(full disclosure, as a Cub fan I'm glad ozzie didn't leave Castro in to face Marmol..When Carlos is good he's very, very good, but when Carlos is bad......)

AJ is the best catcher Chicago White Sox have had since the real Pudge Fisk.6 inches to either side and Sox win. That goof umpire expanded the strike zone on Pods 1 ft that last at bat.Go tear the Cubs a new one today AJ.

I only know that Beckham has played ss his whole life and only ten games at third until the sox moved him there. Maybe you should do some research or at least know a little something about the player you are talking about.

AJ has almost no trade value left at this point, more mismanagement by Kenny.

Take it from a guy that uses "would of" instead of "would have."

You will not be satisfied in your work place, but give it some time and things will fall into place. Those in the construction business should get some good news. Aquarian homebodies will find things rather hectic and may develop a headache by the end of the day, so you should avoid negative thinking as much as possible.
