It would be nice if Pods could make the All Star team, but there are just too many really good outfielders on the list. My choice of Sox outfielders is Dye, who has a .921 OPS, with 18 HR and 45 batted in. He's more deserving, and has already gotten my votes. But who knows, Pods could be chosen as a backup with player votes or picked by Maddon.

HAVING PODS BACK WITH THE SOX IS THE BRIGHT SPOT OF THE SEASON, CONSIDERING THE TEAM DOESN'T HAVE ANOTHER LEADOFF GUY ON THIS TEAM.
HOPEFULLY THIS TEAM WILL PLAY BETTER IN THE 2ND HALF OF THE SEASON, AND RETURN TO OZZIE'S SMALL BALL PREFERENCE. AND, PODS GIVE THIS TEAM THE BEST CHANCE TO DO THAT.

Why is it when I try to send this story via e-mail, to valid e-mail addresses, I get this warning in red print from the Tribune:

"Your e-mail could not be sent for the following reasons:

There is an invalid e-mail address."

This is going on with EVERY story.

Off topic: Youkilis plays for the Red Sox. Aside from being on ESPN, Fox and TBS about 300 times a year :-(, there are a lot more folks in the northeast to stuff the virtual ballot box.

If not the AL All Star roster, I'd certainly think Podsednik has to be the most deserving candidate for Comeback Player of the Year at this point in the season.

The best thing about "Scotty Pods" back on the White Sox is his appearance. He is one of few major league players who wears a baseball uniform traditionally, the way it's to be worn. I hate the way these guys wear uniforms that even cover their shoes. That alone make Scott an "All Star" in my book. I miss seeing Joe Crede in White Sox threads as he too wore the uniform with pride and a sence of history.

Maybe I can't get out of the past, but the 1959 uni's worn the other day were simply outstanding. Unfortunately living in Arizona, I wasn't able to watch the game but at least was able to see players in those uniforms on the web.

Podsednik has been a nice surprise, but just in LF the AL has Jason Bay, Carl Crawford, Matt Holliday, and Juan Rivera. There's no room for him on the team, but that's not really an indictment on his play.

NADA

Go take your temperature, take your pills, call your Doctor and go lie down. Everything will be all right in a few days.

Either you will get better or go to the other side. ""No I do not mean become a cubs fan either"".

"Other side" as in the "other reality", the Dark Side. Oops, I forgot you are there already. How could I over look that!!!

C'mon, Pods has done great.... at the plate anyway....but an All-Star??? Both sides of town are guilty of hyping the good (mediocre) and bad too much. Would he be an All-Star on defense too? Maybe even etertaining the tought, is proof enough of how low the talent pool has fallen in MLB. I wish Pods continued success, but he's no All-Star. However, I would take him OVER the Cubs lead-off farce.

I agree, and the man hustles. On and off the field. Ever see him coming in and going out to the field? He doesnt drag like the rest of the players, he's constantly hustling.

Guillen supporting someone who has only been with the team for 60 days really says something about how bad the team has been. He couldn't have picked someone else to back? Come on! If I was a player that was there all year and he picked Pods then that would upset me somewhat. Not for what Pods has done but for Guillen overlooking others.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Aquarius

If you're still happily munching chocolates and all sorts of other goodies, you'll have to take yourself in hand at some point during the coming fortnight. Maybe you'll have to compensate for all the festive over-eating by taking more exercise or cutting back on the calories, or perhaps you'll decide that you can't delay giving up smoking any longer. As Mercury turns in your twelfth house of secrets, messages you receive at this time may be very subtle or contain hidden meanings meant only for your understanding.
