It's starting to look like the Sox have a surplus of good young starting pitchers and good young position players. If they continue to do well you know other teams are gonna notice. Before long we may be able to acquire the answer to our CF problem through a trade of some of this talent. Teams on the downside always overvalue young talent which should work to our advantage. I really like C Richard and J Marquez, so I wouldn't be afraid to build a package around Poreda in order to get some club to bite.

Any ideas as to what teams would have this CF and would be interested?

LENDALE, Ariz.— Bullpens are usually fragile puzzles, one missing piece ruining the entire picture. And so it was last summer when top setup man Scott Linebrink went down with in muscle strain in the back of his shoulder.

Sorry Yogi, but KW would trade 3 Clayton Richards before parting with Poreda. He is getting rave reviews and his Minor League stats are awesome. To have such control from a power lefty is rare.Willie Taveras and Jerry Hairston jr. were available all winter and KW was not interested. He seems committed to this group. At any rate , i will be pissed if they trade Poreda. We are gonna need young some arms to go with all of our young bats.

I aint talking about any lousy ass Tavares or Hairston. KW was right to pass on those bums. I'm talking about a real CF and to get you gotta give. Besides with Richard and Marquez that's a good cushion and dont forget the youth of Danks and Floyd. In the short term the only role Poreda could have in the bigs is as a releiver until he develops something other than a fastball. The way it shapes up now Richard will be that lefty releiver. Despite the firing of Shaeffer his last draft was loaded w/pitchers in rounds 1-10 and those guys have impressed too. This season is NOT a write-off, the pitching looks solid, its time to go get that CF and go for it.

Oh yeah, when you say Poreda's stats are awesome are you talking about the 7-5 record he posted. I aint knocking him, its just that he could be a lynchpin to a big deal.

Robert? Hmmmmmmm

OK OK Nate McLouth would look awful good in our line-up.

If Poreda ever learns a second pitch, they will want him. If he doesn't, his value will be very limited. Right now, he looks like Kyle Farnsworth.

How about Granderson? I would hate to trade in the division but it would be nice to bring him home.

If you gave them Danks, Poreda and either Ramirez or Quentin, they might give you Granderson.

I think the Tigers would hate trading within the division ALOT more in that scenario.

I'm with Yogi though. I want a REAL center fielder...by gum it's been a while. That said, we all better sit back and strap 'er down for the Jerry Owens show.

What about JW Chi's suggestion that the Sox package Dotel and MacDougal for Grady Sizemore?

Wins and losses are the most meaningless stats when referring to a pitchers "awesomeness". How about his ERA, WHIP, K/BB and K/9?

2.69, 1.10, 3.27 and 7.20

Pretty awesome...
