Red Sox again leave O's blue -

Full story: Baltimore Sun

The frustration level wasn't nearly the same as it was the last time they lost a series to the Boston Red Sox, though the discontent was still palpable.

I sure have seen enough of Gibbons and Payton. They should both be released and don't let the guy who signed them make any more decisions. Bring up any minor leaguer and give them a chance or just put Hernandez or Fahey out there. The cannot look any more foolish and would likely hit better

Fly balls falling that should be caught, failure to advance runners in key situations, letting a pitcher who throws batting practice speed out think you at the plate. That just about sums up yesterdays game. Of course the Red Sox will take any game that is handed to them. Except for the Red Sox bull pen and a couple of their hitters, I am not impressed with their team. They have basically played .500 ball the last 2 months and I predict an early exit in the playoffs.

Trembley says he needs Bradford and Walker as set up and therefore needs a closer. Hello? Dotel. Gagne.
Andy, is anyone there? Here's a trade. Gibbons, Huff ,Payton, Parrish and Shuey for a one-way bus ticket to Delmarva.

Yeah Fred, and exactly what trade bait did we have to get one of those closers? By the way, shouldn't all of our GM wannabes out there be calling for Trembley to be fired now? I thought it was the manager's fault when teams blew games like this. Or is that only true for SOME managers?

O, for those long ago days of yesteryear when the Orioles were winning Pennants! Some difference, heh? Powell, BRobby, FRobby, Palmer, McNally, Cuellar (Heroes) vs. Gibbons, Payton, Cabrera, and all the other current cast of clowns claiming to be Major League Baseball players.

"ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY SLIP AWAY???????"
When the Orioles go into the 7th, 8th, or 9th inning with a lead and opt to bring in the likes of Paul Shuey with his very impressive 8.70 ERA or John Parrish with his awe inspiring 6.70 ERA, exactly what in the hell do people think will happen? It's happened about 15 times this season already. Solid relief pitching would have the O's in contention for a playoff spot this season but the attitude is one of "play to lose" in this town. RELEASE THE DEADWOOD!! That's the answer followed by bringing in kids to work at the major league level and give them some experience. The season is over for the O's anyway. What's the point of pitching these retreads other than stacking up the L column? Garrett Olson is waiting as are others. Certainly they can do no worse and the upside is gaining experience. DUMP SHUEY AND PARRISH and replace them with the kids that deserve the shot. What the hell is wrong with the FO when they can't see this?

alas, someone sees it MY way! Hell, yes it was the managers fault. What the hell do they think is going to happen when Shuey and Parrish are brought in late? They're gonna get hammered because they're retreads that wouldn't be effective at single A.

Yikes, would you just look at those middle relief ERA's! Something to be really proud of. The Red Sox, who didn't need any more relief, just went right out and got Gagne. The Braves grabbed Dotel. The O's just farted around again. Lord, when is the long sleep going to end? What ever happened to being aggressive and showing that to the league and the players? I get more relief dropping a deuce. The O's get theirs dropping games. At least tonight Trembley showed when to use Shuey....when you're already down 9-1.
