Milwaukee Brewers' Casey McGehee quite a find

Full story: Chicago Tribune

It has turned out to be quite a "homecoming" for Brewers third baseman Casey McGehee, who was signed on waivers during the off-season after five years as a Cubs minor leaguer.

Maybe Hendry wasn't such a great judge of talent after all.

Who needs McGehee? We've got Aaron Miles for 6x the price!

Can someone clarify why we ggot rid of McGehee in the fisrt place? Why don't we trust our farm system more. Look at Beckham he has more rbi than Bradly. Enough said

Hendry sure is getting it from all sides. McGehee has definitely worked out for the Brewers. Not only McGehee but unbelievably Jason Marquis has suddenly become Sandy Koufax with the Rockies. In the meantime, Cub acquisitions this year Aaron Miles, Aaron Heilman, Kevin Gregg, and Milton Bradly have pushed the Cubs into borderline mediocrity. These "reliable" veterans have undeniably stifled the Cubs homegrown players like Sam Fuld, Micah Hoffpauir, and Jake Fox. If the Cubs don't get into the playoffs please, Hendry, start dumping salary like there's no tomorrow.

The Cubs had no real desire to depart with Casey M. They simply did not protect him on their 40 man roster and subsequently he was claimed by the Brewers. Out loss....their gain. It was just one of about 10 moves which have back-fired this year. We should all be used to it by now! They may have just done it again in the Baker trade with the Rockies. This Dominican they gave up is a strikeout pitcher with a 3 to 1 ratio of Ks to Ws. Obviously he could never fit into the Cubs pitching plans....not enough walks allowed and way too young at 23 !

Aramis Ramirez and Chad Fox with Josh Vitters on the way might be a good reason.

Fox was not a third basemen at AAA. He was put their because they needed his bat while Aram was out. His first game at third was just a couple weeks ago. It looks like the Cubs have a lot of good young talent that is either being traded or hidden on the bench. Hopefully Fox gets more playing time now that Aram is back. I hate to lose his bat.

Taurus

It's important that you leave yourself plenty of room to manouvres during the weeks ahead, as Mercury turns retro today, especially when it comes to making decisions and airing your opinions to the world. You need to be as flexible as possible right now, otherwise you could find that you've boxed yourself into a corner and have to do some serious back-tracking. You need to consider all points of view and not just your own.
