Yeah I wouldn't mind if the O's unloaded either Walker or Bradford for younger guys, they certainly need hitting and they'd get decent value back or those two.

Mariners talking about trading Bedard? Wow! Now THAT'S a story.

I looked him up and here's what we have:

W-L ERA K BB
4-3 4.08 48 23

What's the problem? ERA is a little high but he's winning on a bad team and his K/BB ratio is excellent. I think they were expecting the moon becuase they gave up so much. But I think he'll be just fine.

Well what do you expect from Jones we only gave up Bedard for him. Woops isn't this the guy that Sun sports writers have been praising since the day he was acquired?

Ummmm...considering Bedard had 1 good season and Jones' age plus the fact that his numbers are similar to Markasis' when he had been playing about the same amount of time...what are you getting at?

I thought Jay balked at going to the Minors when he was here , I think that would have helped him .He could have got his stroke back down there . I never like seeing a man getting paid BIG TIME while not doing the job . The O's could have used those millions to give to Markakis and Guthry ,

How does Heyman get off calling Jones one of the worst of the worst. He is a 22 year old kid who is just learning to play everyday

Adam Jones is a future star. Who is this idiot Heyman? Obviously he knows nothing about baseball and I guarantee you he is a frontrunner fan of teams and players.

Defense and clutch hitting alone would make Jones a valuable asset to any team, regardless of his age. We'll see what that talentless hack Heyman has to say in a year or two.

You think he'll be just fine? I don't think Orioles fans care how Bedard pitches this year. Nobody's losing sleep over his struggles in Seattle. Besides, the guy has the personality of a wet cardboard box.

I am so glad that I WAS WRONG about not wanting to trade Bedard. In was dead set against it. Thank goodness that Andy McPhail had a better idea than myself.

I love both Jones and Sherrill. Both play with tremendous heart, ala Melvin Mora. Jones plays center-field with great confidence, Sherrill is a gritty competitor, and Melvin Mora HATES TO LOSE TO THE YANKS!

Melvin Mora HATES TO LOSE TO THE YANKS......... Mora went crazy last year when the umps let the game continue in the pouring rain until the Yanks got the go-ahead runs with a two-run single by Jeter. Manager Sam Perlozzo didn't say much, but Mora was ejected, screaming at the umps. Then, he had the two-out, bases-loaded squeeze play to beat the Yanks last September. He waited until the SECOND pitch to bunt, in order to surprise the Yanks.

Finally, he looked like a little kid, smiling and lying on the ground, when he scored the tying run all the way from first base in the bottom of the tenth against the Yanks, in our big, 11-10 win this year. MELVIN MORA HAS BEEN THE HEART AND SOUL OF THIS TEAM SINCE HE GOT HERE EIGHT YEARS AGO!

How do some of these sports writers keep their jobs? Anyone who cannot see the upside of Jones either does not really know baseball or simply has not seen the kid play very much at all. This will go down as a great trade in the long run.

I completely agree. Just cuz jones is learning doesn't make him "the worst of the worst" Consindering its his full years in the majors he's doning amazingly well

I'd give the lasr slot to Michael Cuddyer not Jones. Since Adam has a higher OPS then 2/3rd of the Twins OF.

Also lets not forget Jones has an OPS over .800 so far in June. I think he might have found his stroke. Now if he could learn to take a walk he might be an AS by next season.

What else can be said about AJ? He's improving everyday and finding legit ways to contribute. Heyman's completely ignorant on the topic.

Fang Guy - Mariners are thinking of trading Bedard for the same reason we did - to rebuild and compete for the penant in a few years, when Bedard is past his prime. They may try to trade him for young talent, but their GM will be fired first considering the young talent he parted with to get Bedard.

O's Fan from NY - Agreed. Mora rocks.

It's to early to call Jones the worst of the worst. He may end up being a bust but at this time it's premature to label him that. He could experience a hot streak in the second half of the season.
