I re-ask my question. Why in the world is Chad Thall going to the Arizona League this Fall? I understood this league was for top or near top prospects-at least players you think will eventually make it to the majors. Thall doesn't belong in any of those categories. At Bowie opposing batters are hitting .286 against him. And last night in the first playoff game for Bowie against Akron, in extra innings with the score tied, in comes Thall and he does what he usually does. He gets shelled and the Baysox lose. Just because the Orioles are in a tailspin doesn't mean you have to be stupid.. In all candor, I can think of 25 pitchers in the system I would send to Arizona before I"d send Thall. I'm 66 years old. I have a better chance of making it to the majors than he does.

I was wondering why Rowell isn't headed to AZ fall league. Do teams have to send a certain number of hitters and pitchers, so he was squeezed out by the other 3?

Do your homework FRED....look at the stats from Delmarva, Frederick, Hawaii, Ironbirds.....this kid is a natural athlete with so much to offer the Orioles. So what if he has a tough time here and there...he ALWAYS comes back stong! Google his name, bet you will learn a thing or two more then the crap you just posted!

also, if you read todays story I don't think Thall was pitching agains an average Joe. If I may quote
"LaPorta had a total of four hits on the night, including two home runs, while driving in four runs to drive his season batting average against the Baysox to .562 (5-11)." Like I said DO YOUR HOMEWORK

When Bowie's finished with the playoffs, will any of their starters be given a chance to show what they can do at this level? Unless they're really young, please don't give me that "you might ruin their confidence" crap.

Sarah:
I don't have to Google Thall. I have his stats right in front of me. In 2007, he was at Delmarva. 3-5 with an ERA of 4.14. This year, he had one decision at Frederick before joining Bowie where he has given up more hits than innings pitched and opposing hitters are batting .286. So where has he always bounced back? Finally,I know that one of the three consecutive hits he gave up was to Matt LaPorta. But the two that preceded it were to the immortal Bronson Sardinha and Wes Hodges. I can still name 25 pitchers in the system who deserve to go to Arizona before Thall and I wouldn't have to use Google to name them.
