The Indians added another in the fourth inning as DeRosa singled home Ben Francisco. It was his 49th RBI of the season, a figure that would lead the Cubs easily.
This is a highly misleading statement. DeRosa has had over 70 ABs with men in scoring position: so, he has not even needed to bat 0.300 to get 49 RBI.(Having two guys with OBP's over 0.400 bat right in front of you will do that.) Only one Cub has even 50 such ABs. So, DeRosa would have ~30-35 RBI if he were with the Cubs given how bad the Cubs OBP has been.

All D Lee bashers can formally kiss my sagging derriere. Two days in a row even I gave the team up for dead, only to see them scrape and claw their way on top and come away with hard earned W's. Regardless how this season plays out (I abhor predictions), I hope these recent games will quiet the know-nothing choruses of "they're not trying."

guys, I was at this game today and I noticed a few things...

First off, to my fellow Cub fans...NEVER LET ANYONE TELL YOU THAT THE CUB FANS DONT CARE!!!

There were literally 0 open seats after an hour and a half rain delay and tornado warnings all over on a weekday day game.

The stadium was almost filled to capacity in the 10th inning...(no one left after a 7-0 deficit, and it aint like they were stayin for the nice weather ha)

Lastly, the Cubs were down 7-2 at this point and the Cubs had 1 man on, 2 outs, and a 2-2 count...NOT ONE PERSON WAS SITTING...and thats down 5 runs.

Now to put that in perspective, I was at the Sox-Indians game (Floyd v Sowers) the other weekend for a Saturday WEEKEND game on FOX National TV against their biggest rivals (CLE) and the upper tank was half empty!

ONE OF THE GREATEST GAMES I EVER WITNESSED! GOTTA LOVE IT!

SHADES OF 2008 CUBS/ROCKIES RIGHT THERE (Ironically it was DeRo that hit the gamewinnin homer in that one)

Hey Bottom line, You are the reason Sox fans laugh at cub Fans. All you can talk about is people in the stands, People in the stands, People in the stands. If even you cant understand that atleast a quarter of those "Fans" are there for the "Wrigley Experience" your a nut.

The "Wrigley Experience" is when it is 85 degrees and sunny. FANS are people who stay at a game after a ninety minute rain delay and the team is losing 7-0.

Guess it's time for Harden to go back on the DL. Something's wrong with this guy as he's not pitching anywhere near what he's capable of.

Good to see the baseball gods treating the Cubs to a couple life support wins; however, this team has got to start getting more consistent offense.

Give D.Lee some credit as well. He's almost single handily trying to hold this team together. I'll also give a game's worth of kudo's to Soriano. He still doesn't have anywhere near his hitting stroke together, but he did try to make things happen late in this game, and that's what he's supposed to be doing.

Two great wins during the 101st consecutive year of not winning the Series. All you die hards could pretend these were two playoff wins because if they make it, they will likely lose nine straight following this year. Lou's strategy of waiting for his overpriced prima donnas to start hitting has worked the last two days.

Great job Winnetka guy - keep buying overpriced tickets to subsidize guys like Soriano and Bradley and, while you're there, be sure to purchase lots of beer and tee-shirts. These guys are going down in flames, but it probably was the greatest win you witnessed. Too bad it wasn't a playoff game.

Why are you even on here? Go support your crappy team on the other side of town, they could use it.

ya im pretty sure that people came for the '1.5 hour rain delay, 7 run deficit, Severe Tstorms/lightening warnings, Tornado warnings WRIGLEY EXPERIENCE'....

No those were REAL TRUE BLUE FANS.

I addressed my message to CUB FANS not to the poor people on the south side or the jean short wearin redneck in STL or the obesity clinic that is milwaukee.

I just stopped in to say hello to the "start Hoff in place of that bum D-Lee" crowd. Can't seem to find those guys anywhere.

Rod, good to see you are still here though. Even after two dramatic wins your post still starts with two paragraphs of negatives. Geesh, being a sports fan is supposed to be fun Rod. Did you enjoy the last two games?

Well, DLee WAS stinking it up for awhile, now he seems to be heating up.
Pretty simple management would have been to take him out a little when he was really bad and put him down in the order when he does play. Then all you do is MOVE HIM up when he's hitting better.
Harden needs to go to the Bullpen, the guy is rock solid for about 30 pitches, then he loses it. Perfect guy for the pen.
Marshall needs to start since he's the opposite, he needs an inning to warm up then he's solid.
Wells needs to just replace Harden in the line up.

Soriano is overpaid, yet he is still one of the most clutch hitters Cubs have, like it or not. Absolutely NOT a classic lead off hitter but lately he's come up to bat in pretty convenient situations.

It also could be that pitchers have had such luck with the Cubs lately they are taking it for granted that they won't hit in the clutch and relaxing a little late in games. Let's see if it lasts. Milwaukee is going to be tough to catch, they are doing it every which way, low score, high score, mid score.

Let's not get to carried away about last night, Milwaukee swept Cleveland before this and ALL their wins came late in the game. Hard to believe but Cleveland has a worse Bullpen than the Cubs.

Nice to see Wood get lit up and blow a save. I say getting rid of Wood was a good move, although his replacement wasn't any better.

DeRosa should not have left!

I still hold out some hope this team may turn it around. ESPN has a multitude of commentators all saying it will happen.
