No wonder why the SOX got rid of Vizciazno.

He might even pitch his way out of Baseball, if the cubs cannot unload him.

His control leaves a lot to be desired. He should also listen to the catcher more and not shake off pitches, like he did to AJ. Those are the things that led to his demise, Control and shaking off the Catcher too often.

Besides he is not a big out pitcher anyway. Why keep him.

So what? The Cubs weren't going to get anything more for Marquis than some other team's worthless salary dump, and that's exactly what Vizcaino is. Marshall will be fine, probably better than Marquis was, in our 5th spot. Let's not worry that Hendry couldn't get Jake Peavy for Jason Marquis straight up and let's move on with the season already.

Golly guys, the only reason we have this bum Vizcaino on the team was because I agreed to pay Jason Marquis $10 million this season and Vizcaino (and his $4M) was part of the freight I had to pay to ship Marquis out of town.

so you would rather pay $4M for something that doesn't work as opposed to paying $10M to something that works okay?

We all knew Vizcaino was terrible before he put on a Cubs uniform. At least they got rid of Marquis. Having Marquis, on one hand, would be nice for the starting pitching depth, but Marquis was more worried about starting than being a productive part of the team, whether it was starting or relieving. He made too much money to be a #5 starter. If the Cubs could somehow dump Vizcaino and a prospect for Crosby, i'd take that in a second. Problem is Billy Beane won't.

The Marquis trade is history. Let it go already. My concern is that Cotts and Waddell aren't gonna hold up. That's the bullpen's biggest weaknes. Why won't Hendry go after Beimel?? Expensive yes, but very good...

Hey, what's wrong with Stanton and Fox in the bullpen ? We're dumb enough to give them a spring training spot instead of some rookie.

Jason Waddell might be earning the last bull pen spot on the team? Obviously I am not keeping up with the Cubs...never heard of the guy!

Beane might just do that deal... He wants to unlad the Crosby contract and he would save some of his cash in a straight up trade. If he decides that he doesn't like Vizciano, it doesn't really matter because we'll ship him a decent middle relief prospect too. Save money and get a prospect for a mediocre overpaid middle infield backup.... sounds like a winner to me! I actually wonder if the cubs would want to do it!

Why would any team give up a decent middle relif prospect for a player you call "overpaid middle infield backup"?

Dave Littlefield is no longer the GM of the Pirates so the Cubs pawning off their "has beens" and "never will be's) has gotten a lot harder.

Is there actually anyone that thought bringing Luis Vizcaino in was considering it a good move? I, for one, thought it was horrible, and hopefully they'll go ahead and eat the guy's contract and send him on his way, before he starts losing games for the team. I definitely thought Hendry had his worse off-season as the Cubs GM this year, and Vizcaino is just one example of the reasons why.

Any keeping Vizcaino sounds like a winner? And who said anything about a "decent middle relief prospect"? Not me. Why not get Crosby? He's at least a reliable backup at SS unlike Aaron Miles.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Aquarius

Someone is being bombastic and overbearing, and you don't like it. You aren't prepared to take their behavior lying down, but standing up to them is likely to result in a rip-roaring row. Well, it seems that the row is almost inevitable, and perhaps that's just as well because it won't do you any good to swallow your anger or tolerate this person's boorishness for much longer.
