This shouldn't even be an issue. Joba NEEDS to be a starter because he HAS to reach 140 innings this year, which he wouldn't have been able to do in the bullpen. If he didn't reach 140 innings this year, the Yankees would not be able to increase his innings next year and he'd be stuck with another low innings limit (He'd probably need to be shut down before September next year, so forget about the playoffs). Joba is a starter who has been helping out a bullpen. Unless we want Joba's development to be stunted for yet another year, he needs to begin starting now.

First of all you can't make assumptions that Joba will be a great or terrible starter, He only had one game. Everyone says he is going to be so great. Well that is what people said about hughes and Kennedy in the beginning too. I personally think they should of left joba in the bullpen but him becoming a starter is the way the yankees are going. I still believe in both Kennedy and Hughes though. A lot of pitchers struggled in their rookie season. They will be fine.
