Whatever, if they had leadership from the skipper they wouldn't need this. Whole lot of scapegoating by Gardy on the rookies. You have vets on the team that have played worse than rookies all spring. What about them Gardy? The Twins need a new manager.

I hope one the players they were yelling at was Young. There's no point in yelling at Tolbert and Casilla 'cause they ain't gonna last here anyway. Now, get them on the bus and go yell at no-show Joe!

Cuddyer did put his money where his mouth was, if he was one of the vocal veterans, having last night what was probably his best game of the season after going into the game with a .114 RISP batting average. The key for the Twins is to deliver with runners on base. If Morneau could start hitting, it would help the team greatly. He's a former MVP and was once a 30 homer, 100 RBI per season guy. The Twins could use that. Contrary to popular belief, the Twins need to re-sign players like Kubel and Cuddyer.

Liriano is a marvel. It's a roller coaster ride with him. He is the Twins only real lights out pitcher who is very effective when he can keep the ball down in the strike zone and put pitches where he wants them. Still, the Twins should unload some of the guys who might have market value and who are floundering this season. Young should go and guys like Revere should get a chance to play more. The Twins have a couple other young outfielders in Benson and Hicks in the minors. And, the Twins this season, with Perkins success, have a couple lefties pitching fairly well, Dumatrait and James, to cover Mijares' absence. Young and Mijares have been tried and they've had good seasons, but they just don't seem to be the kind of team players Gardenhire is talking about.

have you really looked at him lately? the guys mouth must be full of food whenever he isn't in the dugout on camera. For someone who is around all the state of the art excercise equipment, obviosuly he isn't using any of it, what a fat pig this guy is.....nice example to set for your team, the guy is huge......and with being the manager he has no excuse for being SO much overweight except that besides being overwieght he is obviously lazy too.....

Young misplays a fly ball and then he won't chase it. Bench him. Better yet trade him!! And if Slowey can't pitch in relief let him start at triple A.

OK - so Joe Mauer hit a few rookies with his purse and told them to man up. We should be in first place by June 1st...;-P

The Cardinals game was on the other day, and the announcers were talking about how much the Twins miss Nick Punto and his leadership. I almost started to laugh until I realized they were sort of right.

It's tough to lead from the disabled list, which is where Punto was spending most of his time with the Twins the past couple seasons. Of course once a guy goes elsewhere, he generally plays better and manages to stay healthy. Wasn't Punto out at the beginning of the season for St. Louis?

He was, but has been playing well for the past few weeks.

i laugh when i read some of these posts... how much do some people really know about baseball? GARDY IS A GREAT MANAGER, AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF TEAMS THAT WOULD LOVE TO HAVE HIM. how about these players that cry and are willing to go somewhere else if they don't get the money they want? you never hear of them willing to return any of their paycheck when they suck.

If the check does bounce, hopefully it wont be on the infield. Those guys cant catch anything that bounces.

I blame Joe Mauer for all of their problems. He has the ferocity of an earthworm and the constitution of a frail old maid. Bubble-wrap that joker and make him the team shoe-shine!

It is a business-fire the whole damn bunch.

This is what unions create--no accountability or consequence for failing to perform. It is a crazy business model that is very fragile if the fans stopping blowing money on hot dogs, beer, and caps!!

Until there is a wholesale change of the so-called manager and star players, they will continue to swirl!!
