Yankees re-sign lefty reliever Marte for 3 years

The Yankees re-signed lefthanded reliever Damaso Marte to a three-year contract yesterday, a week after declining his $6-million option for 2009.

I sure hope he pitches better than last year. He was the least reliable arm out of the pen since he has been a Yankee.

you MUST be a MET fan (don't pay attention to games after July). Marte was actullay the MOST reliable arm the last month and half of the season.

Marte should be a leftie specialist,but is able to pitch to righties as well. If phil coke is up with team we could have to lefties in the pen. Martie is levels above Latroy hawkins, and he took less money to stay with the yankee.
