O's activate Payton, option Knott

The Orioles today announced that they have activated outfielder Jay Payton from the 15-day disabled list and optioned outfielder Jon Knott to Triple-A Norfolk.

Why would they option John Knott? What ever happened to the Orioles searching for a right handed bat off the bench with some pop? John Knott gives the Orioles more than Freddy Bynum in my opinion.

Why send Knott down? Perlozzo does not know how to manage a roster. He should lose his job. Why do we need Bynum? With payton back who will he be a defensive replacement for?

We finally find a nice bat who can help us against left handers and we give him 4 at bats then send him down. What a joke.
