I am so glad the Mets found Fernando Nieve. He is such a godsend; when we need him the most he has come through. don't think it is a coincidence that the very first major league game he pitched was against our foes in the Bronx. I only hope that management keeps him in the rotation and throws that worthless Ollie the folly Perez into the bullpen where he belongs. BTW, how many games has that sorry moron won for the Mets at his ridiculous salary?

A good team effort and win. Nieve was a great find and with guys like Evans, Murphy, Wright, etc contributing, perhaps they can make a long run at the division. Phils are hanging around waiting for them! Some of the new blood may make their fans forget some of the others!

Mets should keep Perez in the bullpen and use him for relief. Nieve is a true inspiration. Let's hope Santana gets the same run support and defense this afternoon. Phillies lost last night. let's go Mets!

It's snow in June. Once again Senor Nieve throws another gem. Very pleasantly surprised. Who'd have thunk it that Fernando would be 3-0 with an ERA under 1.50? Not I that's for sure. With Maine & Ollie about to come back to the big club, you have to keep Nieve in the rotation. Put Ollie in the pen for now. You never have enough pitching. Though Redding has pitched better, it might be him going to the pen once Maine returns. Anyway 11 runs? Wow. Nick Evans 2 run tater, Wright 4 for 4 Church with 3 hits. Nice. Now let's hope the Mets can finally win a series for the first time in a while. Tough battle this afternoon Johan vs Carpenter. Could be another 1-nil 2-1 pitchers duel. Mets should've saved some runs for Johan, then again where were those runs for Livan the other night? As Joe Garagiola once wrote. Baseball is a funny game. You never know. You can get shut out one day & then put up 11 the next day. Of course watch the Mets score no runs again for Johan. We shall see. LET'S GO METS!!!!!!!!

Yes, it's great to see a "nobody" come in like Nieve & consistently do a great job. High salaries & popularity don't make you a great player. Drive & hunger do! Especially when you know you have to fight for your position. A little competition is great for the team! letsgomets wrote: I am so glad the Mets found Fernando Nieve.
