Big first inning propels White Sox

The message was simple and executed instantly Friday night. The White Sox quickly distanced themselves from a mercurial first half when they scored six runs in the first inning en route to a 9-5 victory over ... Read more

Give these guys a chance and have faith in the current guys we have. We dont need trades just maybe someone to replace contreras. We will be fine though. It's gonna be exciting for the next 2+ months.

Don's 2nd Half List-orama

1) Nice to see Walkers Job is safe after the 1st inning

2) What?!!!, can't TCQ crowd the plate?!!!

2a) If this keeps up the guy is gonna need a full set of armor to bat!

2b) Okay ya wanna hit TCQ...he's gonna hit you back with a Dinger to left!!

3) Are the Royal's the Sox's version of the Pirates?

4) You would think after scoring runs on converted infielders who play left that teams would stop playin them against the Sox knowing we'll run on them!

5) I'm all for bringin signs to the park supporting the Sox...but I find it creepy that a guy had the sign that said "Alexi is Sexy"....thats Northsider territory if ya ask me!!!

6) This one's from the Niece...while girls dig pink, a pink glove is just WRONG!!(she spotted the little girl in the front row over the Royal's dugout and FREAKED!!)

7) If Burherle's gonna pitch like this the rest of the way, just give him the ERA title now!

8) I have offically given up on KC & Cleveland catching the Sox this year and if Detriot keeps it up I'll include them by August 1st

9) This one's not baseball related but Chicago related....The City truly ROCKS! in the New Batman Flick Dark Knight.

10) This one's for Dragon....saw the hatchet job the two losers tried to pull on you over the All-Star break, ignore them posers their just like all wannabe Sox fans, incapable of learning from our elders and their stories, that and they are CUBS FANS!. So keep on loadin the board with your stories, "True" Sox Fans do appreciate them.

11) If ya don't have the MLB extra innings package, from the 17th till the 23rd they are showin the games for FREE!, so tune in if your out of the market!!!!

Don,
Thanks, Ignore is the answer, he is a coward that posts under many different call signs, and I'm sure that if you ever saw him in person he would make you throw up, so we just need to ignore. That is all I have to say about that.
Thanks again for your support, don't think that it wasn't appreciated.

CQ look good. In batting practice tonight he was the only guy that did not hit a ball in the stands. All the other Sox hitters put them out. Even in batting practice CQ just works on hitting line drives. When he gets in the game he hits them out. No wonder he leads the team in HR's. Swisher seem to be going for the fences everytime up. Swish looked good at firstbase tonight. If Paulie doesn't hit he has to go. I hear the sox might get Hallonder from Toronto.

Although the Sox are content with their sporatic hitting, base stealing, and below average fielding - anyone who has watch this team from the start knows their relief pitching - for the most part sucks donkey. Statistics are deceiving - but when it comes to holding the opposition to small leads - they give it away. Hence, there have not beenb a whole load of come-from-behind victories this year. And too bad Konerko has a no-trade clause. His best days were years ago - and ya' all know it. Ya simply won't win the pennant with a 1st basemen striking out every other at bat. Maybe tell him to leave his batting gloves alone....... or something.

Pete,

It's his pants, dammit, when Paulie was "tearing the cover off the ball" he wore his pants up around his knees like Ruth. Now that he wears them down around his ankles he has quit hitting.

Good use of sarcasm - at first I thought your comment was serious, but I went back and re-read it and realized you were just joking. There probably isn't another team in the league that wouldn't swap their bullpen straight up for the White Sox bullpen.

Good start in the first inning but analyze it -6 hits 6 runs and not much hitting thereafter. AJ, Cabrera, Swisher, Thome did not have another hit and had poor at-bats later.
Swisher looks lost with his mammoth swing to win the game with his at-bat, can't Walker see this?
In the first inning the hitters had short quick stokes but soon reverted to the long, slow swings that will hurt them.

Well, I haven't seen a game in a long time, I just follow the games on the computer.
But the last time I looked, Paulie was wearing long pants. I know supersticion plays a big part in baseball, so I didn't understand why he would do that when he was tearing the cover off the ball.
My question is, since he is wearing them "Ruth Style" Has it helped?

Pretty much since he came off the DL, Dragon. And if you have cable check to see if they offer the MLB Extra Innings Package as they are having a Free Preview of the games, including The White Sox till July 23rd

Good game, most of the offense came in the first inning, but they were still able to tinkle in runs thereafter. Buehrle looked pretty good. I know we hear alot of bad talk about Thome, but is anyone else at least mildly impressed that he has been able to get his average up to .253 after such a bad start? Lets hope the offense can have alot of games like this the second half.
