Sox pitchers can't control Royals this time

Gil Meche and three relievers combined on a two-hitter while John Buck and Billy Butler homered Saturday night to help the Kansas City Royals beat the White Sox 9-1. One night after the White Sox had seven hits ... Full Story

There have already been too many games like this one, where the Sox appear totally listless. When they mail it in, sometimes they don't even bother putting a stamp on the envelope.

maybe it is time to make a trade, for trade's sake. the sox are not going to win anything, if they cannot beat the teams, below them.

also, the sox should put farmer on waivers, and bring in a major league, play by play announcer.

Leave Ed Farmer alone! If you must pick on the announcers, please pick on the Hawk and DJ. There's enough material there to go around for the rest of the season!

Come on Sox! Can't let the freakin' Twinkies win!

Tune into 670 AM and hear him. He's Ed Farmer, former Sox (Phillies, Tigers, Orioles, Brewers, Rangers-career 1971-1983)pitcher and life-long south sider. He announces with Stoney (Steve Stone--another former Sox etc. pitcher) and they are the ONLY good coverage of the Sox games. We are VERY happy to have them.

Bushan,
Who in the hell is this "Farmer" everybody talks about? I thought he was a Cub pitcher.

That's right! We have more class than a lot of Cubs fans. Do NOT insult or dis your own team. They have been in first place for 90 days this year. That's waaaaaaaaaaay better than most of us thought they'd be. Enjoy the season and enjoy the sport. Go Sox!

If the announcing in baseball had been as bad in the 1950's and 1960's as it is today (and that certainly includes Farmer, Hawk & DJ), I wouldn't be a baseball fan. At least I don't have to listen to it...

We can't beat the Royals everytime we play them, so I tried to find a bright spot or 2. Konerko and Crede both looked like their bats were coming to life. Paulie hit a couple on the screws and Crede hit the ball so hard it short hopped the left fielder. Danks against Bannister today. You can put it on the board.

Tell us again how well Ozzie had prepared the team for the last half based on starting with 6 hits and runs in inning #1[Mark Gonzalez column of 7-19]
) for 7 hitters is not a good start, 2 hits against the worst team in the Division. Another Crede error, Hawk telling us for the 100th time "he just missed that pitch" whether Crede, Thome, Swisher, Konerko, AJ makes me sick. Don't you realize what it means to square up the bat on the ball-remember Josh Hamilton at the Homerun contest. Can Walker help anyone or does he just stand there looking confused like Baines and Cox?

They've beat the "teams beneath them" regularly. This was the second game they lost against the royals-they've won 6 of them. Get your facts straight

Ozzie and the Sox should be keeping an eye on the Twins. They have come out of the All-Star break on fire. Look for them to add starting pitcher before the trade deadline.

Every pitcher can be very good when they facing our lineup. Why? Just get rid of Konerko. His career is over. The only role he played is to make this team bad.

Time to stop blaming the announcers. They call it as they see it and they clearly are pulling for their team. I would suggest blaming the hitters, pitcher and GM. This team is up one day, down another in terms of putting up numbers and scoring. Also, sorry, but magnifying one error into the reason they lost is ridiculous. Your pitcher(s) have to be able to pitch out of jams when the defense falters. I'd also say blame the GM if Kenny doesn't make deals to help this club before the deadline ...
