Wild pitch in 14th helps Mets sweep Nats

Full story: Newsday

Securing their first sweep of 2008 didn't come as easily as their first two victories against the Nationals, but the Mets are in no position to critique their own wins.

Hey, whatever it takes. A win is a win is a win. Mets did what they had to do sweeping the Nats 3 games. Where was this in the last week of 2007 when they couldn't tbeat the doormats of the East in Washington & Miami? But new year hopefully different result. Lost in the shuffle was tremendous work by the bullpen & 7 stellar innings by Coney Island's own Nelson Figueroa. Equally impressive were 6 stellar innings by Long Beach's John Lannan with 11K's to boot. The bus ride to Philly would have been eternity had the Mets lost. Now a big series at Citizen's bank park. Great matchup with the 2 lefty aces in Johan & Coley. Could be one of those 1-0 or 2-1 games. Hopefully Johan has his A game. With Citizen's Bank being a home run shangri-la, hopefully Johan can adjust. I know it's early but show Philly who's boss. Love to see Beltran shut up the leather lung loser fans with big hits. After that on to Chitown for 2 then DC for 2 before coming home next Friday. Philly fans suck. Biggest lowlife degenerates on this earth. Any one who boos Santa Claus is a loser in my book. LETS GO METS!!!

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Libra

Remember that life isn't all fun and games: handle your responsibilities first, then plan how to have a good time. Your impulses, once you yield to them, will have a tendency to lead you further and further from where you need to be. Make sure you lock the door behind you before disappearing; when you're in this kind of mischievous mood, you probably won't want anyone else to know where you're going.
