Blanton is the teams best pitcher.
The rest of them are NOT as good as last year.
Happ has done great...but...I think the other teams are finding a way to light him up. Remember Friday when he got hit hard?
Make the trade!
Baseball is baseball...Yes, the Phillies are playing great right now. But, if you look at last month when they lost so many games...They are playing around .500 in the past two months.
Get Halladay!

Happ gave up a collection of bleeders, broken bats, flares and bloop hits in that one inning. I didn't think he got hit hard at all.
By the way, how did you like the way the Phillies handled Superman, I mean Albert HGH Pujols?

I do agree though. GO GET HALLADAY!!!

Good post.
Yeah, Happ wasn't "that bad"...I agree. But, he is NOT Halladay.
"Superman" is really great.
But,
The Phillies did make him "just another hitter".
That was awsome!

If the Phillies trade J. A. Happ, does that make them hapless?

I think the key player to the Jays accepting the trade is the hot dog vendor in Bethlehem, but with his injuries from the hit and run the chances the Jays will bite are slim.

Uh, yes.
But,
Is it really that bad to be "hapless" in life???
I don't know what that means, but, I hope I will never be "hapless"...It sounds bad.

The Phillies are LIGHT YEARS ahead of where we were last year!!

We have a better all-around team this season!! We got rid of weak-link Pat Burrell, and replaced him with Raul Ibanez. Our outfield is SOLID, with dependable backups. Our infield is great. With J-Roll at SS, and Utley at 2B, we have the best tandem in baseball, you saw them turn those double plays today!! Big Ryan Howard's defense has improved 110%, and his offense is unquestionable!! We tightened up Third Base. Our catchers, though no flashy, are workman, and they're getting better at keep baserunners in check, in fact, when was the last time the opposition had a stolen base?

Our pitching is great, and getting better!! And Hamels haven't even got started yet!! Martinez will be getting into the game soon!! And OMG, if we bring Halladay to town, it's lights OUT!!

As, J-Roll said: The PHILLIES are the TEAM TO BEAT!!! Everybody KNOWS IT, and the CHAMPS IN TOWN!!

Moma, there goes that man again!! Moma, stop that man, please? Whoa, is J-Roll hot or what? You saw the Phillies in full force today: Rollins, Utley, Howard, Ibanez, oh MY!!! Joe Blanton, WOW, 8 inning masterpiece, it doesn't get much better for a pitcher!! What about those double-plays? Man, the Phillies are running on all 8 cylinders!!! This Phillies team is just amazing, maybe the BEST overall Phillies team in history, including the ones in the middle 1970's, and the the 1980's team that one it all. Now, if we could get another Steve Carlton!!! Come on Phillies, bring Roy Halladay to town!!!

Happ reminds me of Wally Ritchie from 20 years ago. Ok until teams started scouting him, then they got his number and he was done. Nobody expected the Phils to bring this happless pitcher to the majors and they were caught off-guard for a while. Make the trade.

Come on!
He is off the DL already.
He is back to being the best "I like the media and selling hotdogs" guy.
He has more 15 minutes than Babe Ruth.
Not really, but still.
Babe Ruth ate a lot of hotdogs.
He should stop selling hotdogs in the sh*t part of Bethlehem...and go to the ballpark.
Money is all about location.
Go Phillies!
