For much of last night's game, the moments the Orioles actually looked like they wanted to be out on the field at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington and playing another last-place team were fleeting.

Just learned something. You don't play to tie game in the 9th inning when on the road. I think Trembley is going to fit in fine with this bunch of losers.

House or Bako. Bako or House. Oh. Which do I choose.Sorry Coach. but with this roster, I doesn't matter. And the really sad part is that in the entire farm system, there is no one any better. We'll have to wait three to four years for the kid playing in Hawaii.

You know what? I'm getting pretty fed up reading the quote of these overpaid Oriole nobodys saying stuff like "Well, I tried to hit the ball, but it JUST DIDN'T WORK OUT." This is so BUSH it's ridiculous!

Back in little league, high school and college, especially the latter two, I'd be running laps at the next day's practice if a) I didn't get the bunt down, b) got thrown out stealing or at home plate for the FINAL out of a game, c) missed a bunt or hit-and-run sign.

C;mon Trembley ... you're better than that! Call it like you KNOW you seet it! Your players are waltzing through the remainder of the season. They don't care.

And what makes me so friggin mad is that these guys can go to work and do nothing and cry and whine and get paid BIG $$$ still. If it was a teacher, or a cop, or just about anybody else...THEY'D BE FIRED ON THE SPOT!

Wake up O's fans ... you're being treated DISRESPECTFULLY by your own ballclub!!!

One last comment:

Hey Jeff, Roch, Peter and the rest of the Sun sports writers ... here's my challenge to you:

CALL IT LIKE YOU SEE IT! And I would only hope your editors will grant you the permission to do it!

Call a spade a spade, for God's sake. Let it all hang out when you really tell the fans of Baltimore - O's and Ravens - when you know these guys are doggin' it and such.

The pen is mightier than the sword ... and it rests with you guys to help Baltimore get what it needs in pro sports -- NEW OWNERSHIP!!!

Make these guys ACCOUNTABLE like they do in Boston and New York. Or let 'em run out of town -- which probably is best for all sports fans in Baltimore!

The we can bring in new blood that might actually have a clue about what they're doing ... and what we want!... in Baltimore!!!

Strike 'em out, throw 'em out. There are always new ways to be inept on the field and our guys are determined to find them. P-U!

There is aggressiveness and dumb. Mora getting thrown out at second for the last out of the game is just dumb.

Some good comments from all but they all lead to one thing Trembley is not the answer. When he chooses someone to pinch hit that has struck out 5 of 8 at bats over someone with inexperience ??? there is only one choice. The big T better get a coin with two tails to make decisions. The
only real impression T has made with the club is excuses. To think there are critics out here that seem to think Angelos is not spending enough.

"Bako's got a lot more experience in those kinds of situations in the big leagues than House does," Trembley said. "Bako's been in the big leagues for a long time and he's had those kind of opportunities to be up there."
Trembley - isn't that why you brought House up in September, to allow him to get these kinds of at bats to see what he can do? Trembley, here is a news flah for you -The Orioles are out of the post-season race and Bako is not in the future plans of the O's (hopefully). WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING? You are supposed to be puttingour younger, future Orioles in these EXACT situations so the front office can make intelligent decisions regarding the future course of these younger players! Trembley is the perfect manager for a losing team! This is just fantastic!

Whew! This organization is cursed. Nothing is done the right way. The hiring of Dave Trembley as the manager for next year is yet another example of a move, at the time and in retrospect, that makes you scratch your head and say why? There was absolutely no reason to make that move when they did. Was some other team going to snatch him away from us? I have nothing against Dave Trembley but I think this organization needs to hire PROVEN winners all around. Stop trying to catch lightning in a bottle with recent hires such as Mike Flannigan, Sam Perlozzo and Trembley that no other team would probably interview let alone employ in those positions.

This situation will go on as long as Angelos owns the team .

what a foolish coment trembly made that bako has more experence then house who was the last hitter left this was hail true bake has proven over and over again that he cant hit why trembly used all our player in a nine inning game is even more puzzling is this how he would coach with a good team or why not forfit these last games with once again poor managing and no clutch hitting after ten years of losing its become a habit and years away from breaking this misery

I am amazed at how many people here are already hanging Trembley from the nearest tree.
Look folks, the O's are a crappy team without a lot of talent. No matter who the manager is they are going to lose a lot of games until that changes.

It's pretty embarrassing to read all of Trembley's quotes regarding last nights game when he was dead wrong across the board. What an awful team.....just rancid. An off season MUST is to FIRE Flanagan. He's behind this and his pea sized brain has to go.

The steal seems like a good idea if you have a contact hitter up there. My guess is that Dave T. thought "Well, at least Bako will hit it somewhere, and maybe we'll get a guy to second." Obviously, he thought House would strike out, and they'd end up in a strike em out/throw em out end of game scenario. But lo and behold that's exactly what he got with Bako. So, in retrospect, his decision makes some kind of odd sense. The problem is though that neither player is likely to deliver. Ergo, lack of talent makes any manager look dumb.

I am 46. At least I can say I experienced the O's winning it all in 1983. I don't see it happening again in my lifetime. So many generations are growing up in and around B-more not knowing how really exciting it is for your team to be in the pennant race. I miss those days when the thrill of it all helped you through the day at school or work. The most important thing was the game that night and how it affected the pennant race. At least Boston and NY area folks are "entitled" to that yearly.

The Ravens SB win was fantastic too. I expect they will win another one soon. Football has surpassed baseball in this country. It's run so much differently for the fan.

Evidently JR House is not in the future plans of the Orioles, doesn't get any worse than Bako. Five strikeouts in the last 8 at bats, he may have experience, but he looks overmatched out there. Give the kid a chance.

Watching the game on TiVO last night, when Trembley sent up Bako, I wondered to my 10 year old, "they must not have anyone left on the bench, right?" Once Bako was batting, I predicted "strike 'em out, throw 'em out will end it."
If I know that is going to happen, shouldn't the major league manager have a better clue?
