i have been with the indians for over 60 yrs.you have broke my heart many times with your unforgiving trades, but no more. shapiro you are history. how many times are we going to rebuild just for you to trade our great players. you have lost my support like many others have. i will no longer watch my team dwindle away because of your ineffectiveness as a g.m. as long as you are their g.m. i have a few other choice words for you but being a lady i can't use them, but i hope you burn in hell ..........

For the Rizz,

I guess we all look at the recent trades "as fans" but don't realize that 1) players are paid HANDSOMELY to produce...when they don't, the turnstiles don't "turn" over the monies and all sports are a business. No money, no chance to keep more expensive players. The PLAYERS have underperformed for us this season...much of the blame falls on them, and there are many at fault. Simple math. 2) Most players leave their team at some point...Victor was a great man and player but wouldn't his agent have "recommended" he go for the most money like most other players, "Gentleman Jim" comes to mind here. Players endear themselves to the city they play in but they also choose to leave when the monies don't match up with a another suitor. 3) We've gone through all this before when we had all "those young kids" that developed together into a very competitive, exciting ballclub that we ALL loved to root for. It's just a cycle.

And folks NEED to remember....all these guys are multi millionaires...they're not like us. It's their job. It's all part of the business end of the game and fans need to keep things in perspective. We ARE a small market team....we DO have a good front office that DOES make decisions after careful thought. They DON'T ALWAYS make the right decision...who does in any job. It makes good fodder for the media to chew on and to rehash but it IS only a diversion from reality for most of us. It's not going to affect our livelihoods if one or two players leave.

Tell those fans to get a life if they want to pack up all their Tribe gear and "never root for them again". I'll gladly accept their gear. Gentleman Jim walked away and he's still doing alright as does every player. Do we miss "some" of them?...sure. Victor is a true gentleman, unlike a lot of guys that have left here and might just set the record for the longest returning ovation when he tries to go to bat against us. I look forward to that.

All the ballplayers can do is "play the game" and try to "give us a return on the Dolan's investment" in them. When they underperform, they don't "lose their job" or "give their salaries back" but everyone jumps on the "Dolans and Shapiro" when things like this happen. Look at the players....a lot of this rests on them.

Just my perspective. I'll miss Victor and he knows he's one of the most beloved of Indians to play in this town. No amount of money can buy that...his character, play and demeanor have earned it.

Go Tribe....even if it might take a while for us to get back on top....I believe "We'll Be Back"!

Well Dan, you are entitled to your own opinion. I, for one, am tired of hanging around for another team "rebuilding". They traded away the players they should have been "rebuilding" around. The fans have a stake in this too and a good majority of us just don't care anymore when we see guys like Westbrook hanging around making millions and doing exactly WHAT?? I DO have a life and I'll be devoting my time to that and NOT investing anymore of my time and money on the Indians organization.

I use to watch the Indians all the time. I really don't understand what they are doing by getting rid of all their great players.I believe that someone should own the team that really wants a team and not just to save money like what they are doing now. This trading has driven away lots of people including myself. Victor and Cliff were good players and added a lot to the team. I hope that the owners and Chirpiro fall flat on their face. Hopefully the rest of the players get smart and want to be traded and get the heck out of town.
