But we need Contreras to get his focus back. Bullpen needs as much as inning as we can from our starters. 2 2/3 innings is unacceptable. But I'll take the win.

Great win! Pod ,Nix & Beckham came up clutch along with Carlos dinger. Top & bottom of lineup has really been clutch of late.Bullpen key also holding Angels to one run. Jose Contreras may be done , was hoping Jose would be more consistent .

So...im pretty sure we can all admit that hawk is the biggest joke/hater of any TV analyst on tv...
perfect example, i caught the 9th of the sox game and saw the replay of podsedniks check swing bloop double... i think we all know that hawk woulda blamed the entire game on that as a 'gift' saying the pitcher made a great pitch and it was sooo lucky, mercy and whatever other retarded phrases he thinks are funny...
but when pods hit it he called it a great running line drive double...
absolutely ridiculous, it reminds me of the time i watched hawk try and call out a tigers hitter (inge i think) for getting HBP with bases loaded saying that inge as a baseball professional shoulda moved outta the way so he could get a chance to hit, whereas if that was a sox hitter he woulda gone nuts at how much of a team player he was...god that uglyass old man sucks
anyways...on a more serious note...Gorzo has already had a bigger/better impact than peavy will all season...lock it up

That was yet another game that the Sox almost gave away. Luckily the bullpen did an excellent job and the bats came through. Someone needs put Contreras out to pasture.

Jose Contreras in his last 4 starts has given up 14 earned runs and 15 walks. Whats it going to take for this organization to see that this clown is washed up? Colon is now out of the picture so why is this guy still in the rotation or even on the roster?
Finally can anyone explain to me why Harold Baines is not the hitting coach instead of Greg Walker?

Hey 16 losses, make it 17. Pods' bloop double was in the 8th. The 9th inning hit was a line shot to the gap in right center. Yeah sure the Hawk's a cornball, but hey what a nice clutch win!

RE: 16 losses comment ... I LOVE the HAWK!
Re: Belt it like Beckham ... Since his 2-for-28 start, the leading candidate for AL ROY is hitting .378.
Re: Scotty Pods ... When Sox win WS (I know, I'm a dreamer), is he the league MVP? He's better than he was in 2005 and seems to be a factor in almost every victory.

Not too high, not too low fella's..., take them 1 game at a time. Congrats to Beckham.., he's a stud. I can't believe that several ppl wanted to trade this guy for Doc. This dude has Jeter-like potential to me. As far as analysts.., I cant stand 95% of them anyway.., especially Casper for the Cubs. Homer or not.., Hawk loves the Sox and so do I!

Good win!!

Go Sox!!

Mercy!!!

Whatever he learned and brought back from Charlotte is gone again.

Sox are going to have to do the best they can with only three legitimate starters now that Richard is gone.

I hope Ozzie has the guts to sit grandpa Contreras and start...somebody else. Carrasco was used in long relief tonight, so he's not available.

They are going to have to send somebody down and bring up Torres and maybe Garcia (long shot). I don't trust Colon any farther than I could toss him.

Congratulations to Nix for getting on and to Podsednik for driving him in for the win.

How about a more information report on Jenks? Is he going to get lithotripsy (and be available relatively soon) or is he going to undergo surgery (and be out for a long time)? If the latter, we'll have to try to get a quality reliever on waivers. Maybe we can pick up a good young arm like Nick Masset from Cincy...LOL. Fate is a bitch, ain't it?

You are pretty stupid aren't you. Beckhamm and Pods have had a much greater impact than Gorzo. What's your point, clown?

People always say Sox fans are cubsessed. The more I look at these boards, the more I'm convinced it's the other way around.

Great win, Sox. What a turnaround after the disastrous road trip. Beckham is amazing. But please stop with that bacon nonsense.

Another come from behind victory against a strong LA Angels team. This White Sox team has character and is playing like a contender. Ozzie is the straw that stirs this drink. Hawk wears his heart on his sleeve. So what is wrong with that? There is still 5 weeks until the final game in the cross town classic. Lots of baseball to be played. The Cubs and White Sox are heating this great city of Chicago up just like last season. I would like to see them kick it up a notch and meet in the World Series. Hope springs eternal and life is good.
