I've watched this team develop it's core of talented rookies for a few years now. It is the way dynasties in the past have been developed. To abandon this course in favor of a patchwork style of adding stars like Steinbrenner does would be a grave mistake. This 21 year old Kershaw is the future of this organization. He will surpass the accomplishments of a Halladay given time. It is unacceptable that he is even on the radar. Colletti would be sacrificing the future of this powerful core of players by trading him off just to win once this year.

I think they should give up Billingsly. Chad is OK with a lead, however he folds like a cheap suite when he gets in trouble. Last years playoffs told me a lot about him and I have seen him in Vegas. At least he has learned how to play the position, but he doesn't have the intestinal fortitude needed to to be a top pitcher.........Kershaw on the other hand is gritty and in time will be a late inning starter that will be hard to touch.......

2 of the brightest future stars of the Dodgers ( Kershaw and Gordon ).! These 2 they give up for Halladay, too much to give up for him. Better to send them Billingsly and Martin.!

Keep Kershaw and Gordon, then Your BlueCrew can celebrate a world series win in 2 or 3 years.
"NOT" I do agree that they should trade Mrs. J. Martin.

The word on the street is Gordon (AA), Kershaw and Billingsley straight up for Halladay. Martin has dropped off huge after last year. Not much interest in him.

I wouldn't trade Kershaw straight up for Halladay. Kershaw is nine years younger millions cheaper with Ks and ERA numbers that are on par with Halladay. He does fall behind in terms of Walks and IP but he has never been injured and at 21 is still got upside. If the Blue Jays are serious than a trade of McDonald, Hu, Lambo and a lower level pitcher should get it done. Especially compared to what they asked for from the Mets.

I'd love to have Halladay, but you can't trade Kershaw PLUS one, two or three other top prospects.

The Phillies won the WS last year with a playoff rotation of Cole Hamels, Joe Blanton, Jamie Moyer, and Brett Myers.

Right now, the Dodgers would probably start Billingsley, Kershaw, Wolf and Kuroda.

Is the Dodger's rotation really worse than the Phillies of 2008?

The offense and defense is much better than last year, and assuming everyone stays healthy, the back end of the bullpen with Broxton, Troncoso, Bellisario, and Mota have been outstanding. We might even get Kuo back.

The Dodgers better hope the Phillies don't land Halladay. Otherwise, as good as the Dodgers' season has been to this point there could be a repeat of last year's postseason loss in a few months.

I don't think he will be traded unless the Blue Jays come down on their demands.

The Dodgers need Halladay when the playoffs heat up. Maybe offer Looney and Pierre and Martin.

Trading Kershaw would be absolutely crazy! Yes, Halladay is a better pitcher right now,(not by a whole lot thought) but the prospect for the future is such that trading Kershaw would be a grave mistake. A trade involving Pierre and 2 or 3 prospects would make sense, but a trade of Kershaw makes absolutely no sense.

I was disappointed that the Blue didn't make a move on Pedro Matinez when they could have. The Phils are paying him only one million. Figure you can get a dozen good starts out of him and the playoffs, that a deal for his potential.

They don't want to take on salary (Pierre), they want to shed it.

Would you be happy with 40 year old Brad Ausmus as an everyday catcher and Mark Loretta as the everyday 1B?

I hope ole Ned keeps his wits about him.It would cripple the Dodgers if he trades Kershaw ..........Plus more prospects?Ole neds track record is kinda scary. He gets out of control and you never know what he 's liabal to do.The dodgers dont need a super star pitcher that would cost half the prospects plus!........Billingsley and Pierre would be acceptable though but no more.
