Hooray for David Samson. He's a guy who tells it like it is and is not afraid of being "politically correct". A real breath of fresh air in this "tread softly," "be careful" era. Of course Olsen's agent doesn' like it, but Samson's right, and he was right about Ichiro's contract, too. Hooray for David Samson.

Ummmmmmmmm, I don't believe that Jeff Loria was on either of the rosters either year that the Marlins won a World Series. He owned the team yes, but he did not win the World Series, the players did and that was dealt with by having a fire sale after each season. Mr. Loria shoud take what he can get for the Marlins, hopefully by a buyer that will keep these players in Florida, and stay away from baseball. He, and his little tyrants, are ruining America's pasttime for its fans.
Your right that the players won the series, but he put the organization together. Front offices are very important in putting together championship teams (see Spurs, Patriots, Braves).

Your way off, he did not have a fire sale after 03'.(Wayne was the owner is 97' and he did have a fire sale.) Loria kept his team together and brought in players like Carlos Delgado etc. When the fans failed to respond, he had to do what he did.

By the way, the players the organziation obtained are now the Hanley Ramirez's of the world. Get your facts straight.

Dear Ron in Homestead, You're right about Samson telling it like it is, and that is why I have no problem telling him that he is the classic loser son in law who would be sitting in the basement playing video games if not for the largesse(Look It Up) of his wife's daddy.

I actually called a lawyer friend of mine and previous poster was right--Little Samson has violated a law and it probably has far greater implications for the organization than Scott's adventure.

What Scott did was obviously wrong, but if you start to depict interventions people are engaged in to get help that is pretty counterproductive.

Imagine if an executive of a baseball organization was revealed to be taking Viagra to address a problem. This is not the type information that would be conducive to said baseball executive continuing to seek help. Purely hypothetical example of course with no connection to anyone in Major League Baseball.

Does anybody know oif there is any truth to the agent's comments that this Phi Beta Kappa's abrasive personality is ione of the factors in hamstringing stadium negotiations?? Does the Hispanic population of Dade County really want nothing to do with him?? If that is true Loria must take the guy out of his little office and maybe have him serve as a delivery courier or just let him travel around the world with his wife while spending some of that money from the tax on teams that spend money.

This team really has to move somewheere else. Bad ownership, no stadium or chance of building one, no fan base, no chance of big TV deal JUST A FEELING OF APATHY that must de depressing for the players who experience it.

We can still follow their progress if they are in Northern Virginia, Portland, San Antonio, Charlotte or Las Vegas. Only about 8,000 actual bodies--or less during the week--show up in person and that is 3,000 more than show up to see the South Atlantic League Greenville Drive--Sad!! Really Sad!!

Thank God FSN stopped playing that suck up piece on Sampson's "Iron Man" efforts. Who the F*** cares what the owner's stepson or son-in-law/team president does that is not related to the team.

Sampson is not married to Loria's daughter. He is the son of Loria's ex-wife. This is just the latest in a series of ill advised remarks he has let LeBatard bait him into making. Maybe LeBatard can help Sampson's career the same ay he helped out Tim Hardaway. Sampson is such an egomaniac and loves the sound of his own voice so much he can't help making stupid embarrasing statements.

Sampson is a little bany rooster who tries to be a macho man by shooting off his mouth. I wonder what hidden skeletons he has hidden in his minature closet?Who are you to judge?

LJ,
It is HIPAA not HIIPA. Samson did not quote anything publicly that Olsen did not say himself pubicly. Olsen is a typical spoiled jock that does not know how to control himself just like Michael Vick.
Good luck with your personal plight.
Thanks for the correction on spelling!

I heard the radio comments as I was taking a walk outside yesterday and Samson said that Samson was getting professional or psychiatric help for mental issues. I thought that employers and even doctors can not publicly disclose such information unless there is a SIGNED WRITTEN CONSENT by the patient that it is OK to do so. I think that Olsen can claim that he was intoxicated which he apparently was but at no point did the world think that he is a mentally ill individual (he might be but) and Yorkie Samson said basically that this individually is mentally ill. If you listen to the radio comments.

Anyway, you are probably right but I am not going to be surprised if Olsen's attorney takes them to task on that once Olsen gets traded or released. He might have a case as there are many attorneys in this country and none of them are fighting in the armed forces on the streets of Iraq. They are all here looking for love and money.

samson needs to just talk about movies, which he seems to be an expert in. Cause he knows nothing about baseball. If he would have kept his mouth shut, we might have a stadium deal. The midget

OF MICE, MEN, MICHAEL VICK'S DOGS & DAVE SAMSON...

He does not know a great deal about movies... I happened to have been involved in that business a little bit and Samson is trying to play with the idea that if you are surrounded by turkeys you can fly like a Eagle type of thing. He reasons that because he is a New Yorker that automatically that qualifies him to be an expert at anything. I was listening to one of his reviews one afternoon driving around when he said that he was recommending the movie:
"The Motorcycle Diaries" about the life of Argentine murdering adventurer Che Guevara and Samson said:

- "Che is a Cuban hero and he admired him for not only talking about doing great things but doing great things."

That shows you what a ill informed person he is and how much sensitivity he lacks because Che was an Argentinian and not a Cuban and also by saying what he said he insulted a great portion of the community in South Florida who happens to despise Che Guevara because he was a person who executed many people in Cuba without trial. He just got intoxicated with the power and blood and went ape until the other beard threw him out with the excuse that Che was going to Africa to fight with "our black brothers in Angola."

Now, whether you agree with Che as a hero or murderer is not important. What is important is that if you are in a Public Relations position you do not want to be controversial to your community and also, with him being the proverbial whiny New York Jew that he apparently is, it is ironic that he thinks nothing of praising a man who murdered many friends and relatives of people in Exile here in this area while if you or I went out and said that Hitler had a pretty cool mustache and great inspiring voice, we might never get served matzo ball soup ever again at the Samson family reunion.

I personally do not have a dog in the fight but if you think that the Jews are the only creatures of the planet that have a right to declare themselves abused, attacked and exterminated (physically or morally), then you should talk to Michael Vick's dogs and see what they have to say about that.

By the way, just a little respect and decorum... my name is not LJ and I am not a rapper or jock.

I am a REAL LORD, knighted and all, and so LORD JIM is my name and if you do not mind I would like to be addressed as LORD JIM, not LJ.... PLEASE, it is kind of a title I earned and so it is not as if I am Scott Olsen's personal mental health care nurse.

Just figure that if Dubya Bush can be addressed as Mr. President, if Fredi Gonzalez is a MAJOR LEAGUE MANAGER, if Dan Uggla can bat #2 and Jacobs #4 in a MAJOR LEAGUE line up, and if Yorkshire Terrier Dave Samson can call himself an iron man decathlete or whatever it is they brown nose him with during rainouts of the Marlins,

... then I can be whatever I want to be. Common man... be nice!
