Its good they implemented helmets into the game. Seems painful to even get hit by a pitch anywhere in the body. Amazing how many players managed to take hard hits and still manage to play.

It's amazing that a pitcher has yet to be killed. Watching what happened to Martinez and Kuroda this year makes me think that it's only a matter of time.

Yeah, but I don't know how to understand how a piece of plastic could protect a baseball traveling 95 mphs straight at your head. These are survivor stories in my book.

Definitely survivor stories... however, it's better than the decades and decades of no helmets during the earlier days of baseball...

Was pretty terrifying to see Bryce Florie get hit. There was blood everywhere.

I got hit hard in the face while trying to field an erratically bouncing ground ball in Little League. Definitely contributed to my fear of the ball, and ultimate withdrawal from the sport.
