Padres' Bell enjoys showing Mets what he can do

Full story: Newsday

It wasn't exactly how Heath Bell had imagined it, but it was close. "I actually envisioned striking the last guy out, but Jose Reyes is a really hard guy to strike out.

I think the most annoying part of the game last night was letting Sanchez get a 1-2-3 inning.

I watched some of last night's game but two things I would like to ask of my fellow Mets Posters:
1. For real now, after the Great Johann Santana we have absolutely NO reliable starting pitching. Go one by one after the Ace and we come up with guys like Pelfrey (excuse man) Perez (mental case) Hernandez (prone to injury) Maine (is he ready).
2. Spring training is to get the kinks out and practice your offense and defense - The Mets-what defense@?
3. WITH MEN IN SCORING POSITION, THE METS DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT TO DO AT THE PLATE-THEY FLAIL AWAY LIKE A CHICKEN ABOUT TO BE CAUGHT IN A BARNYARD.
4. We are the 4th place team in the division. It looks like the standings in the NL east are Braves,Phillie or Marlins,Mets, and Nats.
Plese tell me I am wrong. Have a great day fellow Mets fans, you won't get one at Citi Field!

Ironic that the two ex-Mets discarded from new York would get the first Hold and Save at new Citi Field.

It was very nice of Beltran to let him off the hook popping out with a 3-1 count
