At what point do we start looking at the hitting coach.

This is Deja Vu all over again. Pinella made the same call that lost yesterday's game??? I knew it would happen, didn't you!

Well another game another loss the Cubs are playing like the season is over from a hitters point as well as fielders. Fact is they very well may not make it even to the playoffs and a year of great pitching will be wasted. And forget it about this one hurt and that one winners find a way to win! The Cubs may well be done by July at this rate what a waste of talent.

Rick Morrissey said they would be fine

I just hope Cubs pitchers don't get tired of their offensive counterparts and demand to go elsewhere. Hang in there Cubbies. "It's a long season" has replace "Next Year" as our mantra. How ridiculous. Go Cubbies

Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Don't forget they played in Houston where a 250 ft fly ball to left field is a double or a home run. And this was against a washed up has been in Ortiz and a never was in Rodriguez. I don't recall seeing Gerald Perry on the bench lately, probably cause he has no idea what he's doing. Neither does Lou, no passion left in him and he can only manage by the book. Reminds me a lot of the last two Dusty years. Good thing we returned Fox to the minors, didn't need a bat like his these past two days, not when you have a guy like Miles to carry the offensive load. When does the Bears season start?

This entire division in general is the worst in baseball. At least the Brewers have an excuse to suck year in & year out & htat is $$$$ to spend. Really what excuse do the Cubs have? Can anyone honestly believe that whoever wins this division will beat Philadelphia, The Mets or the Dodgers in the play-offs & then beat virtually any American League team in the World Series?.....Just a bad division.
just be glad Brewers have hit a slump at the same time as have the Cards....entire division playing like crap right now....if this team had any amount of hitting they would be leading the division but I guess that could also be said for the Cardinals

Oh & just to give everybody an idea of the difference in organizations as to how fan-friendly they are, the Brewers 3 game series with Colorado this week had a promotion that for every game the Brewers won in May they knocked a dollar off the ticket price...As in a 30.00 ticket cost 16.00 etc etc...Can anyone believe that the Cubs who a few years ago scalped their own tickets would ever be that fan-friendly?...Instead of the usual Cub haters in the World what I really feel for all of you is pity.

I agree with Huff - how can so many players hit so poorly for this long and no one questions the ability of the hitting coach? Lou has been giving hitting instruction to Soto and now Bradley; if he feels he needs to do this, Perry is obviously not doing his job.

1908...another solid output by a horrible offense...

It's the same thing year after year. An 0.something e.r.a from starters on an 8 game trip and they go 4-4?! Tell you what, I'll perform like that and charge the club only one million for it, how's that, cause I can hit as good as they did. What a joke.

One more observation: From an outside perspective I have never seen a team like this Cubs team who know nothing about the Hit & Run or laying down a bunt.If it isn't a home-run hit the Cubs don't win. They also seem to always get the benefit of the doubt with the Interleague schedule as well. Last year we had to go to Boston for three & who did the Cubs get?....That's right the mighty Pittsburgh Pirates. Same as this year. The firts time around when everyone had Interleague play & we were in the Metrodome the Cubs got to play in [yawn] San Diego. Oh that's right they lost them all anyway. Ozzie Guillen summed it up best a few years ago when the White Sox pounded Pittsburgh. "I can see why the Cubs have such a good record playing these guys 19 times"..........PS: Da' Bears still SUCK!!!

It some point this season, the Cubs will bring up Jake Fox to stay and Micah Hoffpauir will be a regular in the outfield - or some position.

We can't have a .236 hitter batting lead-off for our Cubbies (Sorryiano). Why doesn't Lou bat him 8th where he belongs or better yet - trade him to the American League with his fat useless contract.
I totally agree. Whoever wins this lame division will do so by default. And the Dodgers will eliminate that team in the first round of the playoffs. |
WE acn't have a lousy .236 hitter batting lead-0ff for the Cubs (Sorryiano). Why doesn't Lou bat him 8th where he belongs or better yet trade him and his fat useless contract to the American League - disgusting!

They are overcharging for baseball...not for oxygen. People need to get a grip. They still sell out at the prices they charge, and they make a nice margin. I can only make it to a couple of games a year, so if I have to pony up some extra change for those few games, so be it. |
