"Mets Lose As Bullpen Falters"? Baloney. "Mets Lose As Offense Disappears" is more accurate. Twelve up, twelve down as Astros are fast replacing the Braves as nemesis. We know bullpen stinks but offense was meek entire series. Mets fortunate to win one of three. Terrible performance against a nothing team.

how Heilman keeps getting trotted out there in close games is beyond me at this point. THE GUY SUCKS! But really...the Mets will lose the division because of the bullpen which lets up runs and leads night after night after night after night.

Astros bullpen mows down the Mets for 4 innings....123 repeat. Would have been nice if the Mets remembered how to hit.

Hey Got Rings:

Keep spending that money! Maybe someday you'll win another title. No October baseball in The Bronx this year!

At least we don't have to listen to a woman on our radio broadcasts!

How many more times will this happen, Jerry ? We thought you learned from Randolph & Peterson's mistakes. Let the starters go as far as they can !!! There was no reason under the sun to take Perez out at that point. Shame on you. We need a new manager in 2009.

I'll give the Mets offense a break because they have been pretty consistant, and a couple games of little production doesn't mean anything. All teams can go through that.

However, that does not excuse this bullpen...yet again. It's just the same old story. Heilman brought in a tight game, double off the wall, and then can't even get Newhan out. Scho walks the first batter he faces. And Feliciano lets up bombs all over the park to no name hitters. It never ends. This bullpen is absolutely terrible and the Mets will only go as far as the pen lets them....which isn't going to go far.

They will lose the division in the end, because simply..the bullpen was never upgraded and cannot hold the fort at all, at any time, on any night. The arms they have are not good enough. Not enough power, not enough command, not enough guts. Luis Ayala ironically is the best guy down there. Go figure.

every game is just one game..blah blah blah, I've heard it beofre and it's getting old. The Phillies down 2-1 in the 9th with 2 outs tie the game, get out of a bases loaded no out jam in the 10th and then of course win it. I just feel that the Phillies expect to win any game in which they are close, and with the Met's pen problems, they just wait around forthe pen to blow it. Like I said, it's getting old. if this pen can't get it done, and there is no indication that they can, bring up someone else. I tired of seeing Shoenweis, Heilman, Sanchez, and Feliciano pitch scared. You can see it in their faces.

get rid of Omar, Heilman, Feliciano & the rest of this bullpen. As long as we have the Wilpons & Omar running this asylum, they'll be no playoffs in the final year at Shea. The starters need to throw 150 pitches. This bullpen SUCKS.
