He's a rookie and does NOT belong in a key spot.
I want a veteran pitcher out there in late innings and the game close.
Maybe one batter but Smith (who the media seems to love but I dislike) is proving to be just another Jones boy out there. He is mediocre at best.

I turned the game off after Wright's homerun. I had a bad feeling and wanted to go to bed on a high note ...knowing that Maddux squandered another win. Although he has beet the Mets quite a bit, he has also puled the parachute often and has received many no-decision.

I love it when this happens, just picturing how annoyed he must of been made me giggle like a little girl.

. Did you say that when he had 19 straight games without giving up a run

. Did you say this when in his first 19 games he didn't allow an earned run

A few observations on the game, in no particular order:

1. Maddux had filthy stuff last night, really impressive.

2. I'm still thoroughly disgusted by Delgado's hardly moving at the hot shot that went under his glove for a double in the first inning. ANYBODY else playing that position would have at least knocked the ball down. He barely waved at it.

3. On the other hand, Delgado has actually been hitting the ball a ton in the last month, really picking it up. Let's hope he keeps up the pace.

4. I've got to get back to work and stop posting on these discussion boards. Later!

Nice to see the Mets comeback for a change instead of rolling over once they fall behind.
Beltran needs to go have his eyes checked or use a lighter bat and Green needs to go once Alou comes back.

. I agree about Green, I dont know if he plays 2 deep but the last few games he has dove for a ball and each time he missed it. No speed, no range and his hitting should not be keeping in this lineup. Sure miss Endy

Delgado's average is now almost the same as Beltran. They're going to meet in the middle soon. At least Beltran's defense hasn't suffered along with his average.

Hey Prof. sorry for the typos but put down the hatchet and step away from the keyboard.

I think you meant two, 2 is a number,

Your “dove” sentence is grammatically pathetic :

usage Dive, which was originally a weak verb, developed a past tense dove, probably by analogy with verbs like drive, drove. Dove exists in some British dialects and has become the standard past tense especially in speech in some parts of Canada. In the United States dived and dove are both widespread in speech as past tense and past participle, with dove less common than dived in the south Midland area, and dived less common than dove in the Northern and north Midland areas. In writing, the past tense dived is usual in British English and somewhat more common in American English. Dove seems relatively rare as a past participle in writing.

and "...and his hitting should not be keeping in this lineup", is more awkward then a cab ride with David Duke and Gary Sheffield.

But what the Hell… Lets Go Mets.

Green just plays dull.Very slow bat and doesn't go to left at all with the outside pitch.Heavy feet in the outfield too.Wish we still had Nady

I agree about the pay thing.
He'd be hitting second in my order when Alou comes back. Not bad for a number two hitter.

I'm getting tired of making excuses for the Mets. I'm getting tired of asking what is wrong with the Mets? I realize that teams change from season to season, some get better, some get worse. As strange as it may seem, the Mets seem to be both. Winning Ballgames is the bottem line something, the Mets seem to have forgotten. They go from Picture Perfect to out of focus. They better start being consistent, winning Ballgames. They have Lady Luck still sitting beside them but, she is fickel, she could leave at anytime. The Mets have to start playing as if she has left. I and I'm sure many others don't care how they do it. We expexted much more this year maybe we should have not but we certainly didn't expect them to play like a bottem tier team. I don't want to hear, "We have to play better" that is all I have heard all year. If you know what has to be done, just do it.

. Hey Bozo, appreciate the english lesson and the history behind it. I used 2 as the usual easy communication. When one types an e-mail or sends an IM they say u instead of you. As far as my sentence with dove, this is fine. U (you) never heard an announcer say he dove for the ball!. I appreciate though your keeping on top of my grammar, however its a first(it's).
I have you know I be very eduuuucataded, So Bozo the clown go play in the sandbox.

That is your problem, the spoken and and written word is not the same. Look up the term vernacular when you get a chance.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Scorpio

A loved one is extremely upset today, and you'll soon know all about it. Things are out of proportion, so a minor hitch becomes a huge drama that means you've got to drop everything in order to calm them down. Hey ho. At least it won't last long. If you're doing some last-minute Christmas shopping, you won't have as much patience as usual and nor will anyone else.
