what was willie randolph thinking when he let smith face the lefty? thats what pedro gets paid for, getting lefties out. you had him warming up in the pen, when did he plan on using him? an absurd move by willie and one which cost them the game. this time the manager WAS the story and he shouldnt be the story. The padres beat willie not the mets. horrible managing job and a real real stupid and baffling move.

Brutal, brutal loss last night. Man , we are in dire need of some middle relief. I counted last night of the games that I've watched, and this was the 8th time the middle relief didn't get the job done. Joe Smith and Schoenheidst can't suck enough. Even Heilmann (who I like) is like a box of chocolates.

On the + side, Wright is the only thing keeping the mets going. Without Beltran and DelGado chipping on consisitently, David has saved this team more than once. He's got my vote for team MVP.

Mets guy NJ Larchmont, Joe Smith does not suck, he should not be pitching in that situation bottom line. Randolph has to stop managing for the "Big Picture" Feliciano should have have been in there. What is Willie giving Feliciano a rest?
The Mets finally have a huge hit in the late innings& their manger is asleep at the wheel.
P.S. The Mets supposed 1st day of "Early Batting Practice" takes place on July 17th????? The way they have hit this yr you have to be kidding me......
