Alexei's fielding has been horrible lately. Yet another loss that didn't need to happen.
|

Agreed! His mental fielding 'error' really did cost them this game!(+ three 'virtual, unearned' runs for Floyd as well!) I'm now of the opinion that a trip down to the minors for 'da Cuban Toothpick' to work on his fielding as well as the finer points of his hitting could benefit both HIM & the Sox in the long run. Other thoughts here? I suppose that this winning streak couldn't continue on forever, but let's hope this loss doesn't come back to haunt them later in the season! Go Sox in '09! |

Comcast reported after today's game that the Sox are 3 and 34 when trailing after 6 inning's.Unless this gets fixed when and if Carlos returns,that my friends ain't getting it done.KW might be forced to go get a bat somewhere.And good luck with that because it won't come cheap.

And put the Cuban Missile on the pine.Nix can handle that position.

More bad defense that gave the other team an extra out that led to a few runs and the ballgame. Nothing new here.
They are supposed to win most of their games against the hapless Indians and Royals. They're an average team that isn't any better than @15th best in MLB right now. The AL Central doesn't have a dominate team this year which is why the Sox still have a chance to win the AL Central despite being a 500 team this year. The Sox are at a crossroads... Sell the farm and bet everything to try to win this year? Or, trade the veteran core of the team (Dye, Konerko, Jenks, Thome, Pods) for more prospects to add to the already immense pool of talent they have at the minor league level to setup this team for years to come? At the begining of the season nobody wanted Pods. Now, his trade value will never be higher than it is right now. |

Yah, that play partly and ultimately helped the Sox lose the game. But we also have to blame Floyd. He was doing well for 4 innings, but his lack of control finally caught up to him in the 5th and 6th innings.

What did the Cubs do today? Oh,wait they lost and I have been on their board all day making comments. BTW....what did the Sox do? Wait, why do I care, all I want to do is comment and live my life for the Cubs. Wooooo, go sox 2005, well that is when I started cheering for them. I am a typical Sox fan, I can't wait for Dragon to make a comment about me.

You can't win them all. Even against the Royals. Simple as that.
Let's see how they bounce back tomorrow. Then 3 against Cleveland at the Cell, then off to nasty ol' Twinkieland. That will be a real test of this team and if we have something or not. Look at the second half schedule. It doesn't get any easier. Lots of games against the AL East. Also, look at the standings in the rest of the league. Other than the AL East, and the Dodgers in the NL, 41 and 39 is NOT a bad record. It's first or second place in every division in baseball except those mentioned. The entire league stinks, folks. Win now. |

There is no defense for not playing defense. If Ramirez can't get his head out of his rear end bench him and move Beckham to his natural position at short. Playing defense is like shooting free throws you can get better at it if you want to put the work in. Apparently Ramirez thinks he's bigger than that.

Dear White Sox Winning Streak,
Na na na na Na na na na, Hey Hey Hey Good Bye! Da Bears. |
||||
|
It was a very winnable game for us today. But in reality, you can't win them all.
On another note, can you imagine Ozzie managing the Cubs? Who would punch out first, Ozzie or Bradley? |

I've been hoping the cubs would ask ozzie to sing take me out to the ballgame during the 7th inning stretch ...

I see the Twins won today.....
Here we come! Go Twins!! |

The Trib seems to record every White Sox defeat on this website, but the victories are hard to find! It could be me, but probably not! I expect the people that are burdened by being Cub fans (sic) will deliver some sort of shrill post here, but c'est la vie!
|

I'm quite sure there is an article reporting the White Sox game results each day. In fact the article from yesterday's Sox 5-0 win is still there, under "Sox Headlines". http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball... |
||||
Sir Dragon, I tell you with glee I am not he, and he is not me WIth another poster, you have me confused Perhaps too many drugs you have used? One thing is for sure, your face should be red For this fellow Buttfuko seems to be in your head Seriously, we're not the same person. I'm not kidding. Really. But obviously this guy is on your mind, maybe you need therapy? |
||||
You're understandably embarrassed that you thunk I was somebody else. Somebody really has your number, to the point where you are delusional and think that anyone who doesn't share your viewpoint must be the same person. As for the irony to which you refer, you don't understand it but it understands you. I'll post what I want, when I want, thanks very much for your permission. As for your talk of razors and castration - very impressive. Your are truly a south side tough guy. The very essence of a Sox fan! Yes, anyone you don't like or agree with, threaten to cut them up! Very impressive as I said. Why the obsession with castration? You feel that if you castrate your foes, you'll be on equal footing? Nutless miserly loves nutless company? |
||||
Right now the headline on Chicagosports.com in big bold letters is "Cubs Pounded, Soriano goes 0-4 batting 6th". So like you said, the Tribune only covers positives about the Cubs. Uh huh. |
||||
Sir dorkwad is a retadd.STICK WIT THE SUX. |

I do partly agree with "Sir Dragon". The decisions about what articles to feature and which ones go on "page two" are made for business reasons. However I don't think the goal is to promote the Cubs and hide the "competition" white sox. Not at all. I don't think the Tribune views the White Sox as competition. The Tribune does not NEED to promote the Cubs and bury the white sox. It's more about what the largest number of readers are interested in. If you want to sell more newspapers, or generate more click-through, you feature the Cubs, because the Cubs have a larger following both locally and nationally.
Want to sell the most ads? Write more stories about the Cubs. Sox fans have been aware of this for a long time. The Sox are the red headed stepchild of the Chicago sports family. Even Ozzie acknowledged this last week. World series or not, that's the way it is and the way it always will be. Next month the Tribune won't own the Cubs anymore, and if you think the coverage is going to drastically change, I think you'll be disappointed. |
