Go Boston Red Sox
Go WHERE, "AnneMarie?" They're running off with the American League East crown! At the rate the Yanks are going (down!), THEY won't even make the Wild Card, this year! The old adage is, the team that's in first-place, on the Fourth of July, usually wins it all. Heck, THIS YEAR, it was all over (practically-speaking) on Memorial Day! Last March, during spring training, I predicted (WRONGLY!) that the 2007 Yanks would rival the 1996 team (114 wins) for the best EVER record for a Yankee team. Boy, what a shmuck I was! This 2007 team reminds me of a thoroughbred racehorse, tripping-over its own feet, coming out of the starting gate! I mean, it's ALMOST June, and they STILL haven't gotten started, yet! Yeah, I know about the starting pitching situation, but "Boss" Steinbrenner said, "no MORE excuses."
People on THIS thread, and OTHER threads are after Joe Torre's scalp; I got news for 'ya, Joe ain't playin' the game - the players ARE! And, THEY'RE playin,' BADLY! Some posters want to see a manager change. WHAT'S a new manager supposed to do??? He's still got to fill out a line-up card, which means he'll have to write in the same players that Joe is writing in, already. Pitching rotation? A new manager STILL has the SAME pitchers that Joe has. Fire Brian Cashman? WHAT'S that going to accomplish? No, the Yanks are in uncharted territory, here, for a Joe Torre-managed team. THEY got themselves IN to this mess (and it IS a mess!!), they're going to HAVE to GET themselves OUT! When they started out on this road trip (10 games), I figured they HAD to go at least 7 -3. Heck, they're ALREADY 0 -2!!
