By the way, there were a number of posts here months ago about the great deals that the Marlins had swung by getting rid of bums like Delgado, Cabrera, etc., Yeah, sure, dream on.
In order to win big games and make big things happen you have to have big performers and proven performers do it. Notice that in the past few weeks, Delgado, officially named by ESPN the best Toronto player in history, is still delivering big hits for the Mets. Sure he is not the fielder that people want him to be. He was a DH in the American League and can not claim to be a fielding great but look at Delgado, 3 days ago he got 5 hits in a game with a bunch of RBI's, Monday night Delgado had 6 rbi's with 2 homers. So Delgado is hitting around 260 to 270 and driving in a lot of big runs and CABRERA, although playing for a team that failed in mass because of its lousy pitching staff and injuries, is hitting from 290 to 300 and also has his 100 RBI's and 30 homers and hitting cleanup or 5th in arguably what was to be one of the best hitting lineups in the league. It is all like the all WES WELKER question with the Dolphins in which the Fins gave away their only playmaker and look what happened to them and how they helped the Patriots team last year by giving them what became their biggest playmaker after their QB Brady. |

What about Carl Pavano, Alex Gonzalez and Dontrelle Willis? |

All in all I think they have done a fine job of reducing or holding costs and replacing players with pretty good preformers! Its either lose the prospects or lose the established players! You can't find a place for both! |

Hmmm, this "Cub man" sure seems to know alot about defending the front office of the Marlins, and his "United States" tag is pretty unique as well. Curiouser and curiouser.... C'mon, "Cub man", why not mention Lee? He is one of those that if you were a REAL Cub fan you would know about. Or Penny, Beckett, Lowell, Pudge, Sheffield, Renteria, or many of the others that other teams got ahold of for cheap. |

Oh, Cub Man! It is funny that you mention those 3 players.... you must remember them well because they drove a big stake through your freaking drunken Harry Caray heart. Even those guys were good enough to rub your snotty slimey drunken Harry Caray nose in the dirt one more time. You know, there was a time long ago when Cub fans and Cubs in general, for those of us that followed baseball and visited Chicago often, became an endearing quantity and were appreciated by a lot of people who felt sorry for them. BUT IN THE LAST FEW YEARS, the Cubs have become like another NY Yankees and NY Mets teams, big spending, going through all the cash in the bank account to buy players and coaches and still no results. YOU HAVE NOW BECOME A BUNCH ON NON-ORGASMIC MOANERS FAKERS WITH AS MUCH OF A PAYROLL AS THE BIG GUYS BUT WITH NO RESULTS!\ YOU KNOW THAT THE CUBS WILL NOT WIN THIS YEAR, right, you know that, don't you? So now it is the Slimey Cubbies that do not know how to wipe their rear end and a bunch of whiners and cry babies. DROP DEEP AND DROP DEAD! |

The object is to win, whether to hold costs or not. There are plenty of people with big cash that will buy the team and stock it properly This group, without proper funding, confiscated the team and now subjects the fans to this bombarding of insults that it is the fans faults. THIS IS SOUTH FLORIDA and the Marlins have to compete with the other forms of entertainment and they have to market and do public relations accordingly including not insulting and threatening fans and telling them they are going to take the team away and selling their best players as soon as they get good. It is not a business for the light of cash and owning a team is really or should be a hobby and not your sole way to make an income. THEY SHOULD SELL THE TEAM TO SOMEONE WHO CAN START BACK WHERE THEY WHERE AT THE BEGINNING BECAUSE THE PR WORK HAS BEEN AWFUL........ and oh, yes, of course, we are not the same fans that are in NY and Boston or other places with an old base of industry and ethnic enclaves like old Southie in Boston and all of the surrounding communities that love Summer baseball because winters are long. THAT WAS KNOWN BEFORE THE FRANCHISE WAS AWARDED.......... 82 baseball games is a lot of games... and they will not get the support in Miami they need all 3 counties but these owners just want a free stadium. If they were any good for this team, they would never build a team in the middle of Miami but of course they want to fleece the coffers. AND THE MIAMI POLITICIANS, SHAME ON THEM FOR TRYING TO DO THIS TO THEIR CITY. |
