what needs to be done is...have Millidge remain in the lineup and platoon Green and Alou

Last night the Mets were behind 2-1 when I fell sleep. This morning I see they lost 5-1. To David Wells? Come on. The guy should be the poster child for a local pizza and beer joint. I see Heilman did his immitation of the Santa Clause again and gave away another gift to an opposing batter. Last nights game is why the Mets need to trade for someone like Griffey. They need to score more runs. I'll take the proven talent of Griffey now over the unproven hype of Milledge 3 years from now.
As of now, Griffey has 12 doubles, 24 homeruns, and 63 RBI. That far exceeds anything on the Mets. And Griffey plays on a bad team. He's under contract for 2 more years I believe, and if he hits 30 homers and drives in 90 runs as an average for the next few years, He'll be well worth the price of Milledge. Milledge will never reach those numbers in the future. Griffey could be a power hitting version of Endy Chavez. He could play 4-5 times a week in any of the postions. That way Alou stays healthy, Green gets some rest, and Beltran can stop stinking up the batters box a couple times a week. At least when Beltran sits, someone will be at the plate who can hit the ball. Heilman has to go. He hasn't been the same since game 7 of the NLCS last year. Send him somewhere where his wish to be a starter will come true. Milledge also can be used as trade bait. He'll never amount to anything near what people expect him to be while in NY. I read that Willie actually put a hit and run play on. Problem was, Gotey ran and Reyes didn't swing at a perfect strike. Then Gotey gets thrown out at second, inning over. That was a perfect example of the Mets players looking at too many pitches. I'm sick of it. No one wins pennants by looking at strikes and running up pitch counts. Pennants are won by hitting the ball and scoring runs. The Braves and Phillies both lost and the Mets layed another egg. |

. Dan, what team have you watched, certainly not the Mets, they swing at every pitch that they can reach, they do everything opposite of what you say they do, they don't take pitches, they are anything but patient, again what team have you been watching. |

Since Omar is building this into an all-Latino team, my guess is Green is the odd man out.

Beltran is a horrible, horrible waste of money and space in the 3-spot. Trade him to the Yankees for Bubba Crosby. There is an even trade.

I watched that game last night and could tell by the way they were swinging the bats that they were going to lose. We have a new hitting coach, here's an idea.......swing at a pitch in or near the strike zone. Sosa pitched well enough to earn a win, I didn't see Heilman let it get out of hand but if I was running that team, I would get young in a hurry. LOSE Green and Valentin, trade Milledge and Pelfrey and get some winners in there. I am glad I didn't watch the end of this game.

I watched this game last night before Heilman let it get out of hand. Sosa pitched well enough to earn a win....however the hitting has been putrid. Hey HOJO tell the hitters to swing at pitches in or near the strike zone. 3-1 count to green 2 runners on and he swings at a pitch up and outside.....nice groundout. All the blown opportunities. Trade deadline is in 2 weeks lets lose some of our aging baggage and some talented prospects before they are worthless. Green and Valentin both players production is down Valentins fighting a knee injury...but sorry. Pelfrey and Milledge lets get some solid players to fill those positions. I was watching the game on the San Diego affiliate last evening. Royce Wring and Heath Bell are pitching pretty well in San Diego. While Jon Adkins and Ben Johnson are playing AA and AAA ball. There was a great trade and lose Schowenweiss too another bum. I could rant and rave about all the problems the Mets have been having this year....but you all know you have been watching too.

Kat,
I can count at least 10 times every game that the Hitters when in a hitter's count, watch perfect strikes go by without swinging. They then get behind in the count, and start swinging at bad pitches. I see it everynight. Beltran, Delgado, Reyes, Wright, all do it. |

Atta boy Willie, sit Gotay and put in Valentin, the 37 yr old with the brace on his knee. Good move to bring in Heilman, no sense in winning a close game. And lets not forget Alou, give him about 5 games and he will be on the DL again. Keep on playing Lo Duca,he can kill any rally. Smart to keep Castro on the bench. Kid Carter! where the hell are you!!

Omar Minaya better do something fast, or this team of senior citizens and under achieving, overpaid superstarts will be watching the playoffs from the 19th hole.
|
||||
. Yes what a lousy trade by Omar to get rid of Bell & Ring, sounds like a train. Bell had an ERA in the mid 5's and Ring was a waste. |

The mets surely need to get younger and quick. valentine, Alou and green need to go along with three relief pitchers you guys know which ones. the mets need relief help another bat a proven bat and a starting young pitcher or they won't even win there division.
|
||||
. Why do the Mets need a another "Young" starting pitcher. Perez,Maine, and the old guy Sosa(30yo) are not young |

mets falling fast...braves will over take them unless Omar & Wille get off their a--es and get some pitching and a couple of bats...deal for Griffey...deal for Oswalt...DEAL
