As far as officiating goes, the NFL is probably the best, considering the pace of the game. NBA referees do their job lead by the choirmaster David Stern. Many major league umpires, for the most part, are simply incompetent; there are too many calls in the field that are blown without explanation. This type of instant replay cannot cure this.

I would just like to see balls & strikes called electronically. There's no reason it couldn't be done. Just like I can't stand to watch judging results in "sports" like gymnastics, which are usually BS, and influenced by pre-competition bias and prejudice, I also can't stand to see plate umpires call a pitch two inches off the plate a strike, only to call the same pitch a ball two innings later. I know, it takes the human element out of the game, but it's not like the pitchers and batters aren't human. Pitchers should be rewarded for command, and batters for having an accurate eye for the zone, something that too many umps don't have.

Umpires do get all calls right. By definition. Period.

I don't think Delucci has to worry about this type of instant replay. :0)
