I have a three-way trade proposal to remedy a few of the positional questions Sheldon poses.

Cleveland sends Lee and Marte to the White Sox for deposed 3b Joe Crede and a piece of interest to Washington.

That piece gets coupled with the LF platoon of Dellucci and Michaels, both of whom are accomplished off-the-bench producers in either league.

Washington, in turn, sends Austin Kearns to Cleveland and Ronnie Belliard to Chicago.

Kearns has always been a Shapiro favorite and is made expendable by the personnel moves the Nats have made: Getting Lasting Milledge from NYM, Elijah Dukes from Tampa, Wily Mo Pena from Boston and Nick Johnson back from the IR, affecting the job security of NL Comeback Player of the Year, Dmitri Young, possibly causing either Johnson or Young to enter into a LF platoon with Pena.

Crede has a suspect back, but Blake is insurance. Marte fits better as Josh Field's sub than the expensive Crede. Lee might help the Chisox rotation.

It may be rare to enter into a trade with a divisional rival, but this one helps both clubs, as well as the Nats.

Buffalo --no matter what makes sense, it always comes down to TV
Marte--is that all he has to do is"fiqure it out"?
Closer--have we ever 'developed' a closer?
Cliff Lee--here's a guy who needs to 'figure it out'
