Roy Holliday is, without a doubt, one of the very best pitchers in Major League Baseball. He completely dominated the Tribe for the first six innings last night. So, for them to beat him, even late in the game, is a significant accomplishment. The Indians deserve a lot of credit for doing it. Also, Eric Wedge's handling of the substitutions in the last of the seventh was masterful. He put Ben Francisco in a position to be a hero, and he did not fail. Kudos to Ben (and Wedge as well). The only problem I had with the whole deal was that the Indians had done so little for the first two hours of the game that I was on the verge of falling asleep at my computer. But, when the final out was recorded, it all seemed well worth the earlier angst.

The real story of last nights game (which the ABJ apparently doesn't feel newsworthy) was the ABs of Cabrera in the 5th and Blake in the 6th. He threw more than 20% of his pitch count to those two guys, and is most likely why he found the well dry in the 7th. Both asre SOs in the box score but played a huge role in the win.

If David Dellucci is the #3 hitter this team will go nowhere. I don't care how good the pitching is. I honestly have to think he's the worst #3 hitter I've seen in the big leagues in the last 5 years.
